How I got into music: Originally, i'm from West Philadelphia, my father was heavily into classical music, as far as i can remember. My parents bought a piano when i was about 7 years old. I knew at that age they wanted me to learn how to play it and show me the joy of music. I took piano lessons for 7 years and i have to say i was a bad student. I didn't practice the songs i was supposed to learn that week. I would come up with excuses, i look back on it now and think to myself, why wasn't i motivated to practice during the week. I suppose it was because i was shy, dont know why but i was. I decided to quit playing the piano when i was 13 and then didn't intend to do anything with music at all. Music was something that i was exposed to all of my life through my father, but didn't find any real connection to it at the time. My family moved to Haverford, and over the course of time i befriended a guy named Greg. He was really into the music of the time. Nirvana, Green Day, Offspring. He would make me copies of the cds to listen to. I didn't really like any of it at first. It was soo different from the music i grew up with. But i remember there was one song, that grabbed me, "Basket Case," by Green Day. There was something about it. I couldn't stop listening to it. If you listened to the tape now, you would hear that the quality of that song was significantly worse than the rest of the songs cause of the wear on the tape itself. Eventually, the tape was such bad quality that i went out and bought the CD. I remember asking my dad if I could use his cd player to listen to it. I cranked it up. I knew it was something. My friend Greg and I began talking about music, Greg more into the lifestyle and glamour of it all. I was never into all of that. Finding out about the artists and so on, but yea I must say I had my fair share of bands who I really liked. Greg bought a guitar. So for Christmas I asked for a guitar too. My wish came true. That day I learned how to play a "power chord" and the next day I learned how to play Basket Case. From then Greg and I formed a band, and my friends from high school wanted in. So my friend decided to buy a bass and join the group and another friend Ryan decided to play drums. To sum up, I was the songwriter and we formed a band called "Shameless Anxiety" which was a hard rock band. We released an album called "The Will To Power." Selling a couple hundred copies. Unfortunately, the band broke up after high school and we all went our separate ways. So that's how I got into music, from then on I have been solo because it's been difficult to connect to other musician, I don't know why, I think it's because I'm shy. Right now I'm into popular punk music. Fall Out Boy, Reggie and the Full Effect, and Yellowcard. I study the guitar and vocals, but I feel that my main strength is songwriting more than anything. My favorite color has to be Blue. Black, Gray, Red, Favorite movies: Ice Age, Good Will Hunting, Titanic, Spanglish, Ocean's Eleven, to name a few Tom Johanning I Met A Girl Songs | 1. | Lonely Tears For You |

| | Blacktop Rockets Make Mine A Double CD (2007)
I Met A Girl songs
$14.55 This CD is so good it makes me wanna jump and holler. AIIIIIEEEEEHHHHHHH!!! There, I said it. I feel better now. These cats are talented players. They mix it up pretty dern good on this CD. Dave Weil (guitar and vocals) writes some great rockin' originals featuring two guitarist that play around each other beautifully with out getting in each others way. This is a feat not easily accomplished, often times two guitar bands tend to drown out the vocals and melody in a sea of wang and distortion. Guitarists Weil and and Johnny Knox avoid the potential roadblocks and blend their instruments well. This facet is especially noticeable on the first three cuts: "Rockabilly Show", the very bouncin' "I'm A Lover" and the swingin' "Hold Back". This is some of the best rockabilly guitar pickin' I've heard that DIDN"T come from California or Texas. If ya' don't believe me just listen to their cut of "Knoxville Slim". But they DON'T just play rockabilly, they rock n' roll, country, western, blues, cajun and jazz it up pretty dern good too. This music sounds intrinsic to the souls of the musicians playing it...like good rockabilly should."Make Mine A Double" has a great live feel and sound. When I hear their cut of "Put Me Down" ...
