Get Happy!! album for sale Product Description
Get Happy!! album for sale by Elvis Costello / Elvis Costello & The Attractions was released May 01, 2007 on the Hip-O label. Elvis Costello & the Attractions/Elvis Costello: Steve Nieve (organ); Bruce Thomas (bass guitar); Pete Thomas (drum). Get Happy!! was born as much from sincere love for soul as it was for Elvis Costello's desire to distance himself from an unfortunate verbal faux pas where he insulted Ray Charles in an attempt to get Stephen Stills' goat. Either way, it resulted in a 20-song blue-eyed soul tour de force, where Costello doesn't just want to prove his love, he wants to prove his knowledge. Get Happy!! CD music contains a single disc with 20 songs. ...See Full Description

Electric Light Orchestra New World Record - Expanded Edition CD (1976) Top Seller
Get Happy!! buy CD music Also available in a 3-pack with FACE THE MUSIC and DISCOVERY.
1976's A NEW WORLD RECORD is both a classic of commercial '70s pop and an archetypal ELO album. From the outer-space synths and rich orchestrations that open the album to Jeff Lynne's meticulous production and Beatlesque melodies, A NEW WORLD RECORD is magnificent ear candy. Both ambitious enough to appeal to "serious" rock fans and ultra-catchy enough to sound terrific on Top 40 radio (the plaintively gorgeous, McCartney-like "Telephone Line" and the anthemic "Livin' Thing" were well-deserved smashes), ELO was one of the few '70s bands whose appeal covered both the FM and AM spectrums. The album even resurrects "Do Ya," a classic single by Lynne's former band, the Move, in a splashy new version.
The next ELO album, 1977's elaborate double-album OUT OF THIS WORLD, was probably the band's commercial high point, but A NEW WORLD RECORD is the group's artistic high-water mark.
Their #5 smash from '76 gave ELO its first platinum record, and it's probably their most consistent creation. The hits Livin' Thing; Do Ya , and Telephone Line join Rockaria; Tight Rope ; a full six bonus cuts and more!

David Bowie Aladdin Sane CD (1973) Top Seller
Get Happy!! CD music It's no surprise that ALADDIN SANE and PIN UPS came out in the same year. Each drip with the seedy sexuality of London's late '60s sexual revolution. Yet, while PIN UPS was a mid-'60s sampling of influences--a glorified cover album--ALADDIN SANE was all Bowie.
Stepping out of the Ziggy Stardust shadow (Bowie would announce his temporary retirement from the stage later that year), ALADDIN SANE was the aftermath of Ziggy's visit, a brutal memoir of the drugs, sex and glamour that a young starlet could find at the time. "Forget that I'm 50/'Cause you just got paid," Bowie croons, adopting the persona of a "Cracked Actor," and one wonders how far stardom had pushed Bowie. Was he indeed a lad insane?
The macho guitar rave-ups are a brilliant spewing of the PIN UPS influences. Mick Ronson's searing guitar is beautiful trash, made of Stonesy grind and dangerous Kinks-like riffing. Bowie is at an evocative peak, his vocals at once voyeuristic and enticing. His cover of "Let's Spend The Night Together" sends an unwashed shiver up the back, and his youthful exuberance on "Panic In Detroit" is charmingly believable.
ALADDIN SANE showed that Bowie was an artist with staying power that reached beyond his previous Martian Cult status.

Nick Lowe Jesus of Cool CD (1978)
Get Happy!! songs Nick Lowe's first album threw down the gauntlet in grand form--a baker's dozen of "pure pop for now people" (which is, in fact, what a nervous Columbia Records retitled the album for its stateside release). Lowe was charting regularly in his English homeland, and though he didn't reach the same heights of chart success in America, several songs have become familiar late '70s/early '80s reference points, particularly "I Love The Sound Of Breaking Glass" and "So It Goes." At the time of this album's release Lowe was also the house producer for Stiff Records (Britain's first independent record company) and Elvis Costello, producing his first handful of albums, as well as touring regularly with Rockpile. This is an auspicious debut, made good upon thereafter by a continuingly engaging career.
Contains 2 CD bonus tracks and a 16 page booklet.
Personnel: Nick Lowe (guitar, piano, background vocals); Dave Edmunds (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, background vocals); Billy Bremner (guitar, background vocals); Ian Gomm, Brinsley Schwarz , John McFee, Larry Wallis, Martin Belmont, John Turnbull (guitar); Steve Nieve (piano); Roger Bechirian (organ, tambourine, background vocals); Stan Shaw (organ); Sean Hopper (keyboards); Pete Thomas , Steve Goulding , Billy Rankin, Bobby Irwin (drums).

Elvis Costello My Aim Is True CD (1977)
Get Happy!! album for sale The 2001 edition of MY AIM IS TRUE comes with a bonus disc of rare material including demos and alternative versions of songs.
When MY AIM IS TRUE was released in 1977, no one knew that the character on the cover, with coke-bottle glasses, ill-fitting clothes, and Jerry Lewis posture would become a pop-culture icon. Elvis Costello arrived as the uber-geek, hell-bent on blowing away years of macho rock posturing with his revenge-of-the-nerds image and sharp, snappy sound, instantly defining New Wave. In retrospect, the songs--with echoes of everything from the Band ("Blame It on Cain") to the Byrds ("[The Angels Wanna Wear My] Red Shoes")--owed more to rootsy pub-rock than it did to punk, but it was still miles beyond the hairy-chested blues-rock theatrics bogging down the airwaves in the mid-'70s.
While Elvis hadn't hooked up with the Attractions yet, he's ably backed on most of the album by Californian pub-rockers Clover (who would eventually become--shhh--Huey Lewis & the News), and crucially, on the white-reggae "Watching the Detectives," by Steve Goulding and Andrew Bodnar, on loan from key Costello influence Graham Parker. None of this would have mattered had Costello's melodic knack not been so crafty and his lyrics so trenchant, immediately establishing him as the premier singer/songwriter of the post-hippie era.
Recorded at Pathway Studios, Islington, United Kingdom from 1976 to 1977. Originally released on Stiff (UK SEEZ 3)/Columbia (US 35037). Includes liner notes by Elvis Costello.
Personnel: Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar, piano); John McFee (guitar, pedal steel); Alex Call (guitar); Sean Hopper (piano, organ, background vocals); Steve Nieve (piano, organ); Nick Lowe (piano, bass, background vocals); Stan Shaw (organ); John Ciambotti (bass, background vocals); Bruce Thomas, Andrew Bodnar (bass); Michael Shine, Steve Goulding, Malcolm Dennis, Ian Powling (drums); Dickie Faulkner (percussion).

Elvis Costello Armed Forces CD (1979)
Get Happy!! CD music Expanding their sound from the tightly wound new wave rock of THIS YEAR'S MODEL, Elvis Costello & the Attractions returned with the lyrically bilious but musically expansive ARMED FORCES. A key album in Costello's development for the way it branched off into the ABBA-influenced pure pop of "Accidents Will Happen" and "Oliver's Army," the sunny Beatlesque melodies of "Busy Bodies," and the soulful ballad "Party Girl," ARMED FORCES is consistently rated among the finest works in the singer-songwriter's canon.
Elvis Costello: Bruce Thomas (bass guitar); Pete Thomas (drum); Steve Nieve.
Personnel: Steve Nieve (keyboards); Pete Thomas (drums); Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar).
Recording information: Eden Studios, London, England (08/1978-09/1978).
Photographers: Chalkie Davies; Keith Morris; Brian Griffin .
The two-disc ARMED FORCES: DELUXE EDITION contains all the songs from the expanded Rykodisc CD from the early 1990s, which featured key b-sides such as the sprightly "Talking in the Dark" and the previously vinyl-only LIVE AT HOLLYWOOD HIGH EP. This set then adds five more live songs recorded during the same concert, and alternate takes of the album tracks "Chemistry Class," "Big Boys" and "Busy Bodies." Similarly, Costello's wry, self-deprecating liner notes are longer and more detailed for this release.

This Year's Model CD (1978)
Get Happy!! buy CD music THIS YEAR'S MODEL is packaged with a 28-page booklet that includes rare photos and printed song lyrics.
Elvis Costello & The Attractions: Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar); Steve Nieve (keyboards); Bruce Thomas (bass); Pete Thomas (drums).
Recorded between August 1977 and October 1978. Originally released on Columbia (35331). Includes liner notes by Elvis Costello.
Elvis Costello & the Attractions/Elvis Costello: Bruce Thomas (bass guitar); Pete Thomas (drum); Steve Nieve.
For his second album, Elvis Costello fine-tuned his aesthetic by abandoning the California studio cat accompanists of his debut for the more aggressive, quirky and very British Attractions, who would define EC's sound over the next several years. Where MY AIM IS TRUE highlighted Costello's rootsy influences (the Band, etc.), THIS YEAR'S MODEL wholeheartedly embraces the "new wave" out-with-the-old mindset, favoring tightly wound ferocity over back-porch-isms.
Irresistibly catchy, in a twitchy, neurotic, white-knuckled way, THIS YEAR'S MODEL is Costello at his edgiest. The classic "Pump It Up" pummels the listener with garage-band organ, pounding drums, and HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED-style ranting. "Radio, Radio" turned into something of an anti-authoritarian anthem for Costello. The snaky guitar and reggae-tinged drums of "I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea" complement his verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown vocal performance nicely. Come to think of it, so does nearly everything else here.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Producer: Nick Lowe.

Personnel: Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar); Elvis Costello; Steve Nieve (keyboards); Pete Thomas (drums).
