| | Radiohead Com Lag (2plus2isfive) CD Radiohead Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
2007 reissue of the EP originally released in 2004 as a Japanese-only special collection to celebrate the Japanese leg of Radiohead's concert tour to promote the album "Hail To the Thief". Demand for the set was so high that EMI was forced to release the disc in the UK for a short time. This enhanced mini-album features hard to find single b-sides (treasured by most Radiohead fans), rare live tracks and remixes!
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Useful only to the most devoted Radiohead followers (who will probably have most of the contents to begin with), Com Lag is a patchwork of live material, remixes, B-sides, and other assorted scraps. Naturally, the release isn't nearly as cohesive as Hail to the Thief; its apparent intent is to supply the fans with another stream of the band's recordings, regardless of both how they fit together and how mixed the tracks are to begin with. The B-sides aren't nearly as solid as the ones collected on the Airbag/How Am I Driving EP, not to mention most of the intervening extras that trickled out between that release and this one -- though the live, solo piano version of Amnesiac-era B-side "Fog" is a definite standout, and the likes of "Paperbag Writer," "I Am Citizen Insane," and "Gagging Order" are hardly throwaways. A Cristian Vogel remix of "Myxomatosis" is far more nerve-racking than the original, full of clattering percussion; Thom Yorke's vocals are placed higher in the mix and possibly multi-tracked to make them sound as if they're on the brink of lunacy. Another standout is a ferocious live version of "2+2=5" recorded at London's Earls Court. To make the release a little more enticing, no expense was spared with the packaging. ~ Andy Kellman Com Lag (2plus2isfive) Music | List Price | $11.94 (You save $0.59) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, Experimental Rock, Enhanced CD | | Label | Capitol / EMI | | Orig Year | 2004 | | All Time Sales Rank | 35737 | | CD Universe Part number | 7415854 | | Catalog number | 93479 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | May 08, 2007 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Producer | Radiohead; Mr. Nigel Godrich | | Engineer | Graeme Stewart; Darrell Thorp | | Recording Time | 43 minutes | | Additional Info | Digipak; Extended Play |

| | Best Of Rod Stewart CD (1976)
Com Lag (2plus2isfive)
$12.59 2002 reissue of 1976 compilation (re-released in 1988 with additional tracks included here) released to commemorate Stewart's appearance at Glastonbury 2002. 18 tracks, 'Maggie May', 'Cut Across Shorty', 'An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down', '(I Know) I'm Losing You', 'Handbags & Gladrags', 'It's All Over Now', 'Street Fighting Man', 'Gasoline Alley', 'Every Picture Tells A Story', 'What's Made Milwaukee Famous' (Has Made A Loser Out Of Me), 'Oh No, Not My Baby', 'Jodie You Wear It Well', 'Let Me Be Your Car', 'Pinball Wizard', 'Sailor', 'Angel' & 'Mine For Me.' 20 bit digitally remastered from the original master tapes. Authentic packaging faithful to the original album release.
Producers: Lou Reizner, Rod Stewart. Personnel: Rod Stewart (vocals); Michael d'Abo (piano). Illustrator: John Youssi. Photographer: Aaron Sixx. Arrangers: Michael d'Abo; Rod Stewart. With his Sam Cooke phrasing and rough as sandpaper voice, Rod Stewart has been both brilliant ("Maggie May") and shameless ("Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?") during his four-decade career, and if he now seems well past his sell-by date, there's no denying that his distinctive voice is a pop culture wonder. This uneven best-of collection has both of the hits listed above as well as late-period gems like Stewart's version of Tom Waits' magnificent "Downtown Train" (Stewart's take doesn't even come close to Waits' original, however), but it lacks key early tracks like the epic "Every Picture Tells a Story" and Stewart's wise cover of Tim Hardin's "Reason to Believe," and doesn't go anywhere near Stewart's wonderful work with the Faces or Jeff Beck. What's here only tells part of the story, and not necessarily the best part of that story. This will do for casual ...
