| | Stars: Do You Trust Your Friends? CD - Import Stars Discography of CDs
Released two years after 2005's well-received SET YOURSELF ON FIRE, the Canadian indie-pop band Stars unveiled DO YOU TRUST YOUR FRIENDS?, a reworking of the earlier album with each track either remixed or covered by another act (including fellow members of the loose Broken Social Scene collective). Highlights of the collection include Minotaur Shock's spare mix of "The Brightest Light," which calls more attention to Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan's hushed vocals, and the Stills' rendition of "Soft Revolution," a version that turns the expansive original into a dark mood piece.

Stars: Do You Trust Your Friends?
$25.39 The sheer toughness -- and overall derivative -- nature of Killing Floor's debut album, issued six months after Led Zeppelin's debut in 1969 on the Spark label, is a wondrous contrast to the overly slick treatment American blues were given by British artists. All of these tunes, with the exception of one, are revamped versions of songs from the blues canon with different words. The lone "cover" in the set was written by Willie Dixon titled "Woman You Need Love," the tune Zep ripped for "Whole Lotta ...

Stars: Do You Trust Your Friends?
$19.79 The first solo album from Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter Daniel David Kirwan has the future producer for Human League and Buzzcocks, Martin Rushent, utilizing those skills here, as well as engineering. The sound is crystal clear, and a feather in the cap for Rushent as well as Kirwan. It starts off with an uncharacteristic "Ram Jam City," which has more Lindsey Buckingham sounds than one would expect, especially since the two guitarists come from two different musical worlds. "Odds and Ends" is more ...
