Hello, Michael Rosen
$10.69 Clever lyrics abound with goofy puns, zany word plays, and tongue twisters. With inventive tunes, fabulous guitar work, and sensitivity to values such as personal integrity and ecological awareness, Nancy shares her hilariously upside down perspective. The CD also includes computer video selections of her popular comedy performance pieces Cat and Mouse and The Shower Song. Ages 7-12 Nancy is the winner of the 2002 Connecticut ...
| | Placent Chocolate Of Heroin CD (2006)
Hello, Michael Rosen
$12.65 We are Placenta and we will eat your children! Well, maybe not but they will need earplugs when they come see us live. We are the San Francisco Bay Areaâs hardest rockinâ psychedelic-glam-core band and possibly the greatest psychedelic-glam-core band in the history of western civilization. We are the voice of post-modern motherhood, the storm troopers of anarcho-feminism, and the heroes of intergalactic hyper-dimensional guitar playing. This ainât no MTV angst filled smarm-o-ramma, we are here to overload you brain and nourish your soul with electric love.Placenta was conceived at an anti-war protest in 2003 when Glamaflauge and K-Jetset decided to start a band. Many moons and members have phased in and out of the band. Placenta has performed as a sextet and as an intimate threesome. The âChocolate and Heroinâ line-up features Glamaflauge on in-your-face-bass and vocals, Xodik on inter-galactic guitar, Logistix attacking the skins. Logistix has since been substituted with Hashbrowns. Chocolate and Heroin was recorded at a special time in frantic way. The band felt that it was important to âhave productâ in time for the upcoming Momaplooza show on May 12th 2006. Placenta was to be filmed performing that show and featured in a documentary. Rumors of Warner Brothers tie-in soundtrack people (the distributors of the film) showing up to check out the band (the bastards flaked, of course). It was an intense week. The Drums were recorded on a Sunday afternoon by Ricky Lee Robinson at Hypnodisk Studios (we were billed for four hours). The guitars and bass were recorded by Xodik in Resentment Studios Monday and Tuesday nights (Xodik went to his stupid telemarketing job by day). The vocals were recorded over Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. Glamaflague not only did her stupid day job, but also had to contend with all kinds of crazy single parent family drama. The vocals âSingle Momâ and âRock Starâ in particular, were recorded at the edge of emotional breaking points. By Sundayâs practice (in a studio we are no longer welcome in thanks to the ownerâs super Christian ...
