A Gem re-released!
Finally Minnie's 'Love Lives Forever' is available again for the fans that missed the brief first issue from Japan, or those of us that got tired of losing the cd on ebay for up to $200! Most know that this lp was released after we lost Minnie and with the help of some other artists and musicians adding their wonderful talents to Minnie's demo's created a wonderful album, featuring the hit 'Here We Go' with Peabo Bryson, this cd has been remastered with great sound quality, do not miss this second chance to own this!

Minnie Lives Forever!
Other than in the form of a very pricey Japanese only import CD, this album has never seen U.S. release in the 27 years since it's first showing on vinyl. The remarkable thing about this album is that the tracks were already laid before her untimely death in 1979 (to Breast Cancer) and some of her fellow and adoring R&B stars were added onto the original tracks to be ultimately presented as "duets," thanks to the wonder of technology. Natalie Cole very unfairly receives the credit for having done this with her father on "Unforgettable" in 1991. It was the team behind the production of THIS album 10 years prior, that should receive the credit for mastering such a feat on record. The standout tracks include "I'm In Love Again," a sweet little love song with Michael Jackson on vocals (notice how the two sound similar in tone)and "Take My Breath Away," featuring George Benson scatting very soulfully alongside Minnie who quite possibly hits the highest note of her entire career and in the only single, "Give Me Time," a beautiful ballad that only further supports how much about love Minnie's music truly was/still is. The album's lowest moment would be in "Strange Affair," in which current events (for that time) and politics meet with disasterous results inside a "Disco tries to meet Funk" rhythm that does not work to the best effect, thus leaving the song to stick out like a sore thumb amidst the six other "softer" moments. Minnie's posthumously dubbed in duet partners also include Peabo Bryson on "Here We Go" and Patrice Rushen on "The Song of Life." The former song has since been remade by the likes of Chante Moore and husband Kenny Lattimore on their "The Things Lovers Do" CD from 2001. If 500,000 fans were to buy this CD, it would be certified Gold 27 years after the fact. If you're a Minnie lover like I am, I highly endorse this course of action. She'd be smiling down upon us all from Heaven for this. Minnie, Music's original "perfect angel," lives forever and ever. Amen.
