2008 CD pressing of this single pulled from Annie's fourth solo album Songs Of Mass Destruction. Lennox invited 23 of the world's most acclaimed female superstar voices to record with her on a song she had written, called 'SING', in order to help to draw attention to the HIV AIDS pandemic, most especially focusing on the country of South Africa, where women and children are most badly affected. The list of artists who appear on 'Sing' include Madonna, Celine Dion, P!nk, Shakira, KT Tunstall, Dido, Faith Hill, Fergie, Sugababes, Beth Orton, Bonnie Raitt, Martha Wainwright, Joss Stone, Anastacia, Melissa Etheridge, Angelique Kidjo, Beverley Knight, K.D Lang, Shingai Shoniwa, Gladys Knight, Isobel Campbell, Sarah McLachlan. In July of 2001 Grandevolution formed, to become another of the struggling artists competing for performance dates, record label interest, press coverage and airplay. By August, they already had enough original material to schedule gigs at local clubs in the Southern New England area including; The Middle East in Cambridge, MA, The Living Room and the Met Café both in Providence. RI, Club Cats in Pawtucket, RI, and Cargo's Cafe in Windsor Locks, CT. Just by attending the few shows they have played so far, you can see a significant interest from the audience and a growing fan base. After only a few shows, their mailing list has increased from a few family members and friends to nearly one thousand strangers...and the list continues to grow. In early November, after being together for only four months, they headed into the studio to record. Eight tracks were recorded but only six were chosen to be placed on their EP (released in April of 2002). This recording was mainly to serve as a promotional tool, and was distributed to venue promoters, A&R representatives, management companies, talent agents, college and commercial radio stations, producers, etc... Sarah handles the booking and the management for the group. She attended the Art Institute of Boston/Brookline (formerly Massachusetts Communications College) for Music Business Management and completed her internship requirement at one of the East Coast's most reputable live music venues (Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel & the Met Café). Scott designs and maintains www.grandevolution.com and also provides other promotional materials including business cards and bumper stickers. As for the music... It is suitable for the modern/alternative rock radio format. It is female fronted, heavy, loud and melodic. Every song has a catch, whether it is the melodies or the driving lead guitar that leaves you wondering, "How the hell did he play that?" Just when you thought it was safe, Anthrax (the band) is back. Refusing to change their name in a post-9/11 climate, the thrash legends from New York City storm back to the mainstream after a five-year release gap. Anthrax helped to create not one, but three metal sub-genres--thrash-, rap- and nu-metal, and WE'VE COME FOR YOU ALL serves to remind the current generation who was there first.
The album pulses to life with the tribal beat and crackling guitar of a metallic giant waking from a deep slumber. Following the briefest of pauses, the album explodes to life with "What Doesn't Die." It comes at you fast and hard, as one of the best rhythm sections in metal lays down its famous chug. The addition of guitarist/producer Rob Caggiano gives new blood to an already well-oiled machine. A power ballad ("Safe Home") and a Southern rock stomp ("Cadillac Rock Box") provide contrast to the thrash attack of "Nobody Knows Anything" and the title track. Anthrax can even make an acoustic guitar sound crunchy ("Refuse To Be Denied"). Headbangers, put away your gas mask, but keep your neck brace handy.
