Fifth full-length release from West Philly-based solo artist Tara Burke aka Fursaxa. Boasting a fan base with the likes of Bardo Pond, Acid Mothers Temple and Thurston Moore who released a record by her on his Ecstatic Peace! imprint two years ago, Burke is now one of the epicenters and key collaborators of the North American Free-Folk movement, along with such luminaries as Jack Rose, Charalambides, Ben Chasny and the Jewelled Antler Collective. With her hypnotic, echo-y churchbell chanting, Burke possesses a power-filled vocal sound that harkens back not only to those other polar queens of disaffected freakout Psychedelia Nico and Barbara Manning, but she is also akin to and inspired by Hildegard von Bingen, the 12th-century Benedictine mystical abbess. With the low drone of chord organ and farfisa, detuned ringing guitar, and endlessly looped, multiply-tracked vocals applied with heaps of delay, Fursaxa sounds like a tripped-out medievalist perched upon a poppy petal. All Tomorrow's Parties. 2007.

$12.69 Bean's Biohazard starts back as far as childhood when his mother used to take him to the opera at the Kennedy center of downtown Washington, D.C. Yeah, It was boring and exciting at that time because they were not used to things like that. But it didn?t stop there. His musical experiences ranged from his father?s ?old school? albums (such as Hadley Caliman, White Heat, The Doobie Brothers, Sly & the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Catalyst, and The Original Last Poets) to the being in University Park Elementary School?s choir. He still has the album they did. Don?t trip! It was beautiful. You?re too cool to even say that!! They used to sing songs like ?I Wonder As I Wonder? and ?The World Goes Rolling On?. We probably need to sing that like NOW!His sister, Stacey (may she rest in peace), and Bean were eventually enrolled in the school?s marching band where He learned to play the clarinet and the trombone. Back in that day, he thought the clarinet was more a ?girl?s? instrument. How naïve was he? At that time, Bean didn?t realize the wide spectrums of music from composing, to the instruments, to the song writing. When the beats hit the streets of "down the bottom" Newport News, VA, Tony "BEAN" King, and his comrade C "NAKREE" Smith took to giving' our listeners a taste of lyrical goulash. This was right around the time songs like: Nightmares by DANA DANE, JUST-ICE, Roxanne Shonte', Skinny Boys, and DO THE FILA came out. Back then they were known as "PhD-Doctors of Philosophy". Nakree's was known as Mr. Cee and Tone was known as Dr. Bean. Nakree would attack emcees with a freestyle frenzy sparking the very depths of your mind at the same time making you laugh in the process. Bean's attack was more of uh, how you say, verbal entanglement. And he wrote in way that could get across to the most skeptical listener. At that point, they were lacing shows at the skating rink, pep rallies (Ferguson High), and so on... Bean gives a shout out to Wood song, Aqua Vista, Walker Village, Harbor Homes, and Ridley Circle. Bean moved to North Carolina and met up with other underground artist such as Yaggfu Front, Seventh Tribe, DYH, Tico the Hot Commodity, DJ Assassin, DVS of K97.5, and Flow Original of NC State radio station. Since there ...
