| A State of Mind Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) WOW! this album is amazing, one of george acosta's best albums yet Submitted by mlowham (fairview, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Euphoric Trance At It's Best! Miami, Florida DJ/Artist George Acosta releases yet another excellent cd of uplifting euphoric trance. Acosta's "A State Of Mind", Armin Van Buuren's "A State Of Trance 2007" and Above & Beyond's "Anjunabeats Volume Five" may very well the best trance cd's of 2007! Mixed flawlessly you get tracks by Talla 2XLC, Tatana, Matt Abbott, Armin Van Buuren, Cosmic Gate not to mention Acosta himself plus more. A must have for the trance enthusiast. Submitted by B.C. A State of Mind songs
$14.29 Christopher Lawrence is a globetrotting house DJ whose singles and mix albums have achieved significant success in the U.K. and who is in constant demand as a touring artist and party DJ, but who, until this release, had yet to release an album of his own compositions. All or Nothing marks his debut as a purveyor of original trance music, and if he hasn't exactly staked out any really new ground as yet, he at least demonstrates that he's learned well the lessons of his forebears. Lawrence's brand of trance is utilitarian, if not quite minimalist. Pretty much every track (with the notable exception of the borderline funky "New Day") is built on a straight-ahead foursquare house beat, around which electronic atmospheres expand and contract. Sometimes (as on "Mind Eraser") they're fairly chilly and robotic-sounding; at other times (as on "Saboteur," the album's lead track) they sound ...
| | Paul Van Dyk Politics Of Dancing, Vol. 2 CDs (2005)
A State of Mind album
$12.55 It differs little from his previous releases, but Paul Van Dyk's The Politics of Dancing, Vol. 2 is a satisfying argument that trance isn't dead and not even on life support. One bit of newness is the speed at which Van Dyk discards tracks on disc one's mix, a 17-song epic journey into uplifting, atmospheric dancefloor dreaminess. Theatrical stops and starts feature into every one of these blissful numbers, but Van Dyk keeps things moving at a pace such that the listener probably won't notice the gimmicky device is being overused. Otherwise, everything is tasteful with vocal numbers that don't get too precious and just enough Benny Benassi-styled electro to let you know this is 2005 and not 2000. Wayne Jackson's earthy vocals make Van Dyk's own "The Other Side" the album's song to remember while opening the more sprawling disc two. The drops followed by buildups are back for the second set, but the tracks are allowed to hypnotize longer and Van Dyk's segues are practically invisible as the DJ disappears behind the seamless set. From the hooky "Believe" by Santiago Nino to Holden & Thompson's cooing closer, "Nothing," it's Van Dyk at his best, perfectly chosen, perfectly mixed. No stylistic detours, but being so in tune ...
| | George Acosta All Rights Reserved CDs (2006)
A State of Mind CD music
$11.49 From the warehouse parties of the late '80s to car commercials in 2001, the hardcore dancefloor energy and hypnotic techno beats of trance music have become a major musical part of the millennium. This is largely due to innovative, world famous DJ/producers like the Miami based George Acosta, who proves every time he puts a needle on a record that "trance," whatever the label, has evolved beyond a passing fad into a true cultural lifestyle for millions. Blazing back after his Lost World mix, Acosta proves that he has learned from his mistakes as well as his successes. All Rights Reserved ...

| | Johnny Cash Greatest Hits: Finest Performances CD (1995)
A State of Mind MP3 Album
$8.99 Born in Arkansas, Johnny Cash began his musical career in the early 1950s, following his discharge from the Air Force. Cash developed his sound with Luther Perkins (lead guitar) and Marshall Grant (bass). Their debut, "Hey Porter"/"Cry! Cry! Cry!" emerged in 1955 on Sun Records followed by "Folsom Prison Blues" and "I Walk the Line." In 1958 Carl Perkins' drummer, W.S. Holland, joined and Cash switched to Columbia Records, and another single, "Don't Take Your Guns to Town," sold half a million. Cash married June Carter in 1968 and they had several hit duets.
Solo, Cash recorded AT FOLSOM PRISON, which remains his best album and a contender for the best country record of all time. Shel Silverstein gave him "A Boy Named Sue," which became Cash's only Top 10 pop hit. Cash has recorded many religious albums, including THE GOSPEL ROAD ...

| | Freddie Jackson Personal Reflections CD (2005)
A State of Mind CD music
$11.59 Especially when compared to his explosion onto the adult contemporary and quiet storm radio scene in the '80s, the '90s weren't too kind to Freddie Jackson. A longtime soft rock radio staple, his instantly recognizable anthems began to show their wrinkles and cracks with their dated productions, and were slowly replaced with more current and polished productions. Thankfully, with Personal Reflections Jackson reminds everyone why he was such a potent force in the great quiet storm invasion of the '80s, and why his name belongs up there with some of the style's most well-known artists. This comeback album starts off in fine form with a fantastic and by the numbers cover of Paul Davis' anthem "I Go Crazy" and works its way through some of soft rock's ...
