Old school meets the new school
Spurting forth frothy bits of old school blood droplets a la Iron Maiden, Judas Priest & Manowar mixed into a HYPERdermic concoction of Mastodon, Arch Enemy and Shadows Fall, 3 inches of Blood empty the arteries at a furiously maniacal pace. Employing 2 vocalists (one sort of in the Arch Enemy vein while the other clearly follows Rob Halford of old) is an interesting approach and the contrasting vocal stylings blend all too well well over a rat's salad tossing of "twin metal motor maiden" guitar riffing. This is accomplished, hyper and just plain FUN metal and "Fire Up the Blades" is a instant classic unto itself. If you LOVE old school metal yet can appreciate more recent purveyors of the trade such as the bands I previously mentioned, then this pseudo-power chord impaling is just for you. Start to finish, this is a wild ride down an accelerated roadsmack shot glass of liquid fire & crushed glass. Slash & burn is the order here and all prisoners thus taken shall die swordless, headless and well, just plain horribly.

consider them fired
First off, this album rules. They dropped a little of the power metal edge from previous recordings and added a whole lotta thrash. Also, this is their THIRD album. Their first album was Battlecry Under a Winter Sun, THEN Advance and Vanquish.

Loud, Wild, Totally Insane!
Everything these guys put out is pure, addicting, 100% metal at its best. This album just gets louder than the previous two as 3 Inches of Blood charges on thorugh another 13 killer tracks. Pick this CD up, and grab their first 2 records while your at it. Than let the rocking out begin. You won't be disappointed!

Not Bad...
But Could have been better. After Advance and Vanquish, I was hoping for a lot from these guys, but the sophomore album is a disapointment. Most of the songs sound the same and stale. At least they stayed metal, which is something to be said for in itself.
