| | Ghost Peeps Jesus Porky CD Ghost Peeps Discography of CDs
Ghost Peeps 1st big studio effort. Filled with witty lyrics & hook-laden pop noises, "Jesus Porky" is their most accomplished album to date. All 14 songs borrow from pretty much the entire musical history of the 20th century and whether it be the killer pop songs "I'm Calling It Art", "Femme Fatal", the jazz creepiness of "Don't Touch Me There", the hip hop opener "Ghost Peeps Theme", the Swahili inspired Talking Heads Meets Santana (to talk about The Beatles) "Jung's Quote", the glam rocker "Eggplant Man", or the country western waltz "A Gunslinger's Woe", it all sounds like the work of a cohesive intelligent band, or in this case the two man songwriting team of Wright/Gargiulo backed with pro session musicians. While Ghost Peeps doesn't back away from it's trademark sense of humor, songs like "Images" and "Ghetto Chateau" shows a more serious, almost introspective side, that gives the album some weight. After the fairly simple punky "Peep For Sale", it'd be easy to write Ghost Peeps off as some kinda talented goof band but "Jesus Porky", with it's occasional very complex song structures matched with it's songs about third grade strongmen, clothing store employees, eggplant men, and everything else, shows Ghost Peeps as an extremely talented band with no signs of stopping in pushing to the musical forefront. Viva la Ghost Peeps!!Album comes in a limited edition numbered black paper sleeve, featuring original Ghost Peep artwork, lyrics sheet, and Ghost Peeps pin! Jesus Porky
$7.96 STRIPPED is an Enhanced multi-media CD. Its interactive material, playable on any CD-ROM player, includes highlights from the VOODOO LOUNGE CD-ROM, electronic liner notes, photos, lyrics, song outtakes and live videos of "Shattered," "Tumbling Dice" and "Like A Rolling Stone."
As the longest continuously surviving band in rock and roll, The Rolling Stones have become a symbol of staying power, and STRIPPED proves why. Its lean, live, acoustic format draws from their Voodoo Lounge tour, which mixed the band's early material with some judiciously picked covers and a handful of country-blues classics, giving the band more punch as a live act that it's had in the studio in years.
The Stones' clever interpretation of Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" finds Mick Jagger asking "how does it feel to be on your own"; some thirty years after the song first hit the charts, the question still rings true. There is no other band like The Rolling Stones, and they are now completely on their own--peerless, that is. The Stones are also armed with a musical catalog that'll never be equaled, and STRIPPED shines because it brings some brilliant, underutilized elements of that catalog back to the forefront. The barroom boogie of "I'm Free" ...

Jesus Porky
$52.55 This was Japan's last album, a live set that serves as an overview of their work as a group. It also includes performances of songs that were not featured on the group's studio albums.
In retrospect, it's an ironic twist of fate that Japan was just blossoming into its most artistically fruitful period while on the verge of breaking up. When this 1982 concert was recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon, Japan was just around the corner from disintegration. OIL ON CANVAS makes a hell of a swan song.
The band had come a long way from it's glam-rock beginnings, evolving into a subtle, complex unit that combined post-punk funk, electronics, ...

$13.29 These three very different sisters come together and write exceptional music and lyrics. They began their harmonizing early in life, officially formed as a band in 1999, and began touring throughout New England, NY, and Pennsylvania building a following of faithful fans and releasing two full-length albums. Power, Love, & a Sound Mind in 2000, and Amplified in 2001.In 2003, the sisters brought their instrumental talent to a fore in their live show, raging additional attention to their already solid vocal and songwriting capabilities while expanding their performance base to a national level. Their 2004 demo recordings "Na-Na" and "Why Am I Amazed?" are making their mark. The latter is included on the 10-song complilation Peace Songs For a Better World, Vol. 2. Garnering press from radio airplay and interviews, tv-tapings on both national and local networks, as well as magazine and newsprint, these women have filled the ...

| | Bogdan Raczynski Alright! CD (2007)
Jesus Porky
$14.09 Having seemingly disappeared for a while -- but who knows what he'd really been up to, given how easily the Internet allows for an anonymous career -- Bogdan Raczynski reemerged in late 2007 on Aphex Twin's Rephlex label with Alright!, an eight-part blast of arty merriment that plays around with a slew of familiar dance tropes and has great fun doing it. Practically a concept album based on the title word, which crops up as a series of vocal interjections in the opening number delivered by different voices in different styles, Alright! looks back at everything from gabber to drill'n'bass, feeds it through a sonic blender that's at once hollow-sounding and bass-heavy, and keeps throwing one curve ball after another. Whether it's the sweet twinkle of a new keyboard melody toward the end of the first part, the simple overlay of synth bells and chimes heralding a crackling rhythm explosion on the fourth track, or the sheer exultance of the final part, there's much to enjoy right as it happens. Plenty of now-familiar moves recur -- air-raid siren analogues, rising synth swells, and melodies heralding a climactic conclusion -- but are used so well ...
