| | BC Campbell Now's The Time. CD BC Campbell Discography of CDs
Beginning with an epiphany in the barren deserts of Turkey, followed by a manic period of writing a song a day, BC recorded "Now's the time" with engineer/co-producer Erik Chillman over a two year period in a homemade studio in Seattle's industrial Georgetown. Starting out as a hopeful experiment-- melding BC's background in jazz and all forms of rock and Erik's years as a DJ of acid house and electronic music-- the album developed, song by song into an impressive and mature sonic unity. Quickly realizing that these sweaty and addictive songs needed to be brought to the stage, BC sought out a versatile and powerful band. Slowly gathering, the CELEBRITY ORPHANS finally emerged with the soulful Tyler Clark (guitar), Seattle new-music virtuoso Angelina Baldoz (bass), outstanding southern sensation Jay Hoots (drums) and co-producer Erik Chillman (keys). Bringing a unique set of influences and personalities to the mix, the CELEBRITY ORPHANS have melded into a raw and visceral group that feeds off each other's energy and have quickly captivated fans in a very short period of time. Press Release for *Now's the time*Ruben Jones- Handpickedentertainment This full-length debut of Seattle's BC Campbell, is a kaleidoscopic array of catchy, soulfully melodic songs, 'from funny falsetto to bemused musings on supermodels!through the melding of sex, death and bent metal' Seattle Sound. The allure of the album is the range of musical influences put together with a "consistency of style, both memorable and genuine, artfully conveying the emotion of each song to the listener' Rick Feuer, The Fifth Dimension. From Motown to blues-rock, alt-country to stripped down folk/acoustic ballads, lush and stirring string arrangements to house-driven dance music; Now's the time. traverses the wide and rich terrain of America's musical landscape. The thread is the warm vocals of BC and his well-crafted song writing- with hooks to spare. As producer, writer, vocalist, and primary 'back-up band' BC recorded Now's the time. with engineer/co-producer Erik Chillman over a two year period in a homemade studio in Seattle's industrial Georgetown. Beginning as a hopeful experiment-- melding BC's background in jazz and all forms of rock and Erik's years as a DJ of acid house and electronic music-- the album developed, song by song into an impressive and mature sonic unity. The album begins with the blasting 'How Much,' a driving, grinding song about procrastinating to the point of insanity. The opening song's exploding energy is the emotional surge that binds the album together; the inner necessity of the music. Followed by 'Get Down', the album's raw and pulsating dance track-- lust and desire culminate with a sparse and sexy chorus. This song highlights the unique collaboration of the two producers-- an edgy blues guitar and swelling vocals over a driving dance beat, filled with sweeping synth filters. The sweaty and addictive 'Carcrash Boogie', anchored by Campbell's lascivious bass and soulful punctuations on the guitar, takes the theme of death and transforms it into something beautiful, surreal, even comic. The sweet falsetto and warm harmonies bring the song promisingly to the forefront of the album. Now's the time. is a beautiful album from a promising songwriter- unafraid to follow his whims to seek his own sound, taking risks both musically and lyrically. From its soaring beginning to its somber end, this album is a song-by-song soundtrack to life's toils and exhilarations, humanity's quirks and dark broodings. BC Campbell Now's The Time. Now's The Time. CD music
$14.38 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make them sound like a single show. The material leans, understandably, on his recordings with the Anti label. There are stellar performances here, such as "Get Behind the Mule" from The Mule Variations, "Trampled Rose" from Real Gone, and a haunting version of Leadbelly's "Fannin Street" from Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, to mention just three of the 17 cuts here. But he goes back to his Island albums too. For instance, there are completely re-visioned readings of "Lucky Day" and "I'll Shoot the Moon" ...

| | Used Blues Deep Down In Florida CD (2009)
Now's The Time. music CDs
$13.69 Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, the Used Blues Band has been reinventing traditional blues forms since 2002, when bassist Butch Wise formed the band with a few fellow blues aficionados. After a few personnel changes the resulting line up (Wise on bass/vocals; Alan Yeatter, guitar/vocals; Gus Olmos, harmonica; Rick Wagner, drums) has done just that on their first album, fusing the electric blues formula with rock, soul and traditional delta sounds to create a unique and yet evocative debut not to be missed. The title track, "Deep Down in Florida", is a raucous homage to blues giant Muddy Waters and a playful tip of the hat to the band's stomping grounds. From there the album careens into more soulful territory with the searing R&B lament "Fix Me Up", followed by the Otis Redding-influenced confessional "Don't You Go". The band next digs deeper to produce the superstitious, ...
