2007 collection from the Easy Listening/Lounge legend. Ray Conniff popularised male/female vocal choruses with light orchestral accompaniment on a mix of popular standards and contemporary hits of the '60s. He was originally hired as an arranger by Mitch Miller for Columbia Records in 1954. After he wrote the charts for several sizeable Columbia hits during the mid-'50s, Conniff became a solo artist as well, applying his arranging techniques to Easy Listening instrumentals for the booming adult market. The result was twelve Top Ten LPs and in excess of 50 million total albums sold, cementing his status as one of the top LP sellers of all time. This 16 track compilation showcases his versions of classic tracks such as 'Sentimental Journey', 'Begin The Beguine', 'September Song' and 'I Get A Kick Out Of You'. My name is Rohan Phillips (aka Smurfy-D). I was born in 1975 Kingston 20 Jamaica W.I. In the beginning of my schooling I attended George Headly Primary School graduating and moving on to Trench Town High School, at that time I was about sixteen and realized that I had a gift for music I therefore had to make a very hard decision which was to quit school and pursue with my music career. I then began to write lyrics and I noticed that I could write lyrics within 15 minutes. At that time quite a few artists inspired me such as Capelton, Terro Fabulous and Terry Ganzy. I then began to travel, my first trip of course was to the USA to visit for a month, I was still at the ripe age of sixteen, while their I met other friends who had the same love for music as I did so while on my stay in the U.S.A. Carl Watson (aka Anthony Terror) and I went to a couple of clubs watching different artists perform and wishing it was us until one night it happened we were at club Legend (which was located in Brooklyn) someone was performing and they asked Terror to take the mic he took it and gave a very good performance he then passed it to me before I had anytime to think of what I was going to say the lyrics just came pouring out I couldn’t believe it they were just flowing like I have been doing this for years, people started screaming wanting to hear more all I could think to myself was all that hard work of writing finally paid off.I was then connected to a producer by the name of Doctor (Willie Productions) who put my first two singles out and a combination, the singles were called Praise di Almighty Father and Dilly Dally the combination was called Can’t Stop Reggae Music.
