In the early 1990s, Outpunk Records, the first record label devoted to queer punk, released Outpunk Dance Party, a genre-defining compilation of queercore (or "homocore") music. In its tradition, Agitprop! Records presents Stand Up & Fucking Fight For It, which features 16 bands that continue to embody the spirit of queer punk's first generation. The styles on display range from 80s influenced, old school hardcore ("Take Aim" by Kids Like Us) to noisy grindcore ("Fueled by the Blood of the Innocent" by Ninja Death Squad) to anthemic pop punk ("Burn Your Rainbow" by Skinjobs) to what we call school-yard chantcore ("Asskickatron" by Fagatron...really, there's a "core" for everyone...). Stand Up & Fucking Fight For It proves queer punk is not now and never was a gimmick. The revolution will not be sanitized. Stand Up & Fucking Fight For It: Queers In Hardcor album
$9.35 Millions of years ago, a magnificent green ray of light came out of the sky down to Earth. Filled with other-worldly powers, it remained dormant until one dark night, a few friends saw a green glow beneath the desert sand. The green power was released to them and Slushbox was formed. Now Slushbox, a super-sonic rock band powered by the green light, races through the galaxy in a tomato spaceship. They survive on an ample supply of pomegranates and the love of those they meet along their journeys.Their mission is to visit other worlds and share the stories of their intergalactic expeditions with grooves and melodies, and prospecting the idea that the galaxy always has the cure.see more belowPRESS RELEASESlushbox, Truly Green Just take a look at their new CD, “Dagga Goo”, and you will see that rock band Slushbox honors green. The entire CD package is BRIGHT green. Songs such as “Dry Spots”, “Messages”, and “Rust”, express wonder of the great outdoors and environmental and social awareness. “One-Celled Animal” and “Octapus on Broadway” are whimsical celebrations of creatures rarely seen but always around. “Tomato” and “Pomegranate” confirm that lyricist/singer Sharon Giarratano is a disciple of farmers’ markets, and she offers, “All of the songs were inspired by observing Nature, and come from my reverence for the natural world”. You are invited to ponder the meaning of the title track “Dagga Goo” which features synthesizer work and production by Michael Bacich of Oingo Boingo fame. And don’t miss the recycled eighteen minute reprise “Track 11” offering a trip not unlike the Beatles “White Album” but on the green side. You can find more about Slushbox and their ultra bright greenaliscious rock and roll CD “Dagga Goo” at: www.slushbox.netearly days article, below:The Hot And Heavy Songs Of SlushboxAuthor: Steve Irsay Date: July 18, 2005 Publication: Downtown Gazette, The (Long Beach, CA) Page: 29When singer Sharon Giarratano and guitarist Mark Wheeler began performing 12 years ago as a punk-folk duo, they co-opted their first initials into the cheeky stage name S&M. Soon, they added a drummer and the trio became known as, well, 3sum. Now the double entendre-loving duo is back as the creative nucleus of an avant-pop outfit called Slushbox (whatever that really means...).All this innuendo of course begs the question: are these two unassuming ...

Stand Up & Fucking Fight For It: Queers In Hardcor CD music
$10.15 Jonny Q got involved with music at the young age of four years when he started taking piano lessons. He learned how to read music before he was able to read words. By the age of eight he was already composing his own songs and experimenting with violin, trumpet, clarinet, drums, guitar, bass and various other instruments. Throughout his youth he played in ensembles at school and church, singing solos and duets (with his father) of gospel music in front of hundreds of congregation members. He also performed many of these numbers on piano or organ. As a child he often attended nursing homes with groups of musicians who would play for residents during the holidays or on Sunday afternoons. He became well known for his strong vocal stylings before his voice had even changed. After high school he continued his musical endeavors playing with various rock bands in the New York area and the northeastern United States. He played professionally for more than ten years, performing original material as well as personable workings of familiar songs to a wide array of audiences. Many of these bands performed regionally and all were successful on some level. This forged Jonny into one of the hardest working musicians in the field today. Currently he is performing solo, and with Privatized Air, in and around Colorado, as well as venues on the east coast, and in southern Texas. He earned a degree in music performance from SUNY college in 2000. After graduating from the University of Colorado in 2006 with a BA in psychology, he decided ...
