| | Best Of The Guess Who CD (1977) Bonus Tracks
Daijobu CD music
$6.79 The Guess Who always seemed a bit like the Canadian predecessor/counterpart to Grand Funk Railroad, but they typically fared far better with the critics because of the versatility that they possessed. That trait is very evident on this collection of hits and great songs. From the opening "These Eyes," with its orchestral strings and Zombies-like baroque pop feel to the classic AOR crunge of "American Woman," ...

| | Celtic Thunder The Show CD (2008)
Daijobu CD music
$13.65 CELTIC THUNDER THE SHOW, the audio companion for the popular PBS television special, showcases the five Irish vocalists in their ideal setting, a stage in Dublin. Celtic Thunder thrives on the contrast of its various voices (four tenors and a baritone) creating a surreal musical landscape. Paul ...
| | Broken Spindles CD (2002)
Daijobu music CDs
$10.35 The bassist for the Faint, Joel Petersen, was asked by a friend to create some music for a video piece. When the video piece came out, the friend didn't end up using any of the tracks Petersen had created, but the idea of making soundtrack music had inspired him, so he got together with producer Mike Mogis and they created Broken Spindles. Their self-titled debut record is all instrumental music, electronic beats, retro-synths, and general robot grooves, and there's plenty of that sort of music being produced in 2002, but Broken Spindles is a cut above. They've layered some pretty-sounding glockenspiel and vibraphone over their computerized bleeps and it can be lovely ...

| | Marduk Funeral Marches And Warsongs CD (2004)
Daijobu CD music
$33.75 Funeral Marches and Warsongs is the first official DVD release by Marduk, and, much more than a tastefully packaged or high-tech affair (it's neither, in fact, with rather dodgy artwork, a basic booklet, and an elemental menu setup), it likely provides non-European viewers with their first glimpse of the Swedish black metal veterans. Given the pick of three separate concerts taped during the band's 2003 World Funeral tour, this release compiles almost two hours of footage. Ironically, two of them -- a club-sized engagement in Paris, France, and a larger, shed-sized triumph from Katowiche, Poland -- took place a mere four days apart and feature identical, ten-song set lists. But at least the first gig's very makeshift and under-produced appearance is handily compensated by the second's ultra-professional and quite impressive display of power, as thousands of Poles proceed to go absolutely bonkers over their heroes. As for the third, far shorter concert (a mere ...
