| | Scott Trio Gordley Off The Cuff CD Scott Trio Gordley Discography of CDs
Tenor saxophonist Scott Gordley has played throughout the East coast for the past 20 years. He’s appeared on numerous recordings with jazz and blues greats such as Little Anthony, Johnny MacLeod, and the Gamma Rays. Gordley has played at the House of Blues with artists Susan Tedeschi, Ronnie Earl, Michelle Wilson, Rick Russell and blues legend Weepin’ Willie, and has played venues with many others including blues great Johnny “Clyde” Copeland and Shameika Copeland. Gordley is currently a professor at Montclair State University in New Jersey. The Scott Gordley Trio pays homage to the classic Blue Note jazz recordings of the 50’s and 60’s, featuring musical innovators like Jimmy Smith, Stanley Turrentine (with organist Shirley Scott) and Lou Donaldson (with Dr. Lonnie Smith on the Hammond B3). Many of these musicians alternated between free-form jazz, funk and soulful blues to produce what has become known as the classic organ-trio sound. $11.39 On 'Mesh', Tim Nelson played acoustic guitars, cello, flutes (bansuri, Native American, silver boehm, suling, shakuhachi and recorder), Nellotron, cymbals, bongos, dumbek, djembe, chimes, bells, saron and kalimba, as well as some other things he's forgotten about...***********In February 2006, Tim Nelson was interviewed for a future edition of Lightbulb magazine. The following consists of excerpts from that interview which deal specifically with 'Mesh':L: How did this CD come about?TN: It originally started out as an installation piece. I was asked to perform at a gallery opening at which a 30-year retrospective show of an art college's metalsmithing department was being ...

$16.45 THE SKINNYInventive acid-jazz and hard funk with intense improvisations and swingin' grooves. Comparable to MMW or the Charlie Hunter Trio... ARTIST CD DESCRIPTIONThis cd combines two seperate live sessions we did under drastically different conditions. We always wanted to combine our group improvisation with a dj or sampler and here we got our chance. The first was done after a hazy night of gigging and partying in a dilapidated house on the west side of Chicago, on a cold gray morning in March. We didn't know what was going to come out of Steve G's various percussive and electronic toys, and I'm sure nobody knew where the session was going to go. We had a long-running in-joke about never being able to record a particularly inspired performace or rehearsal because none of us had any recording equipment (we could barely afford the stuff we had). But in the end, this was one of those sessions we were lucky to get down on tape, one of our tightest performances. The second was recorded 3 years later in Prague, Czech Republic. Tony booked a week's work of sessions for his solo album and this live improvisation date in an old castle, part of which was renovated to house a recording studio. The beautiful town, lush greenery and ancient walls around us, along with Steven D's bag of tricks, brought forth a relaxed and free-spirited blowing session, with strong performaces by all.And there you have it. Two different environments led to inspired moments for all involved. Put in on and bug out. ARTIST REVIEWSHere are some reviews the Darkk Bros. have received in the past:CMJ New Music Report: Issue 522, Reviewer Tad HendricksonDarkk Bros., dont have a Hammond organ, but theyve got the groove often associated with the acid-jazz movement. | | Tommy Lockett Opus CD (2006)
Off The Cuff music CDs
$17.09 Opus was recorded January and February 2006.I wrote all the songs except Opus 11 in November and December 2005. I composed Opus 1 threw 10 in order which I've never done before, the stream of conciseness just happened that way. I could not think of any song titles, so "Opus" became the title for each work. Opus 11 aka Dex circa 1979 was a old song I wrote in 1979 as a student at the Berklee College of Music, Boston. The song originally appeared on a album by Frank Macchia called "Bogga Bogga" in 1980. Please NOTE, Opus 6 is available at www.heatrecords.com, but not on the album due to length, it features guitarist Jeff Miley, who play's his ass off, so it was a difficult decision to leave the song off the album, but that's show biz.I used John Lewis on drums, who is also a friend and brother to me. Steve Weingart plays all the burning synth and keyboard solo's on this album. Steve is a musician beyond the outer planets, he can play anything, yet his great vibe and inspiration really separates him from the rest. ...

$11.15 Hi I'm Juv a latin singer songwriter who writes about subjects like domestic violence, heartbreak, happy times, etc. Ive been influenced by american and also spanish rock bands practically my whole life. It really was a long road but im glad it's here. My music can be described as moving, vibrant and melodic. Some of the lyrics reflect a lot of my personal experiences while others are just me trying to figure out the why in things. I like to use a witty and slightly sarcastic tone when i write. The cd art contains pictures and all the lyrics to the songs, for those of us who love to sing along. This is my first production and i poured my heart into it and looked after every detail. I sincerely recommend this cd to anyone who likes to buy a whole cd not for just one song, but for a lot of cool ones. Thanks for the support! I really apreciate it!*Atention* Now you can purchase songs individually at Amazon.com and Rhapsody.comSoy Juv, un cantautor Puertorriqueño con influencias del rock americano y latinoamericano también. A mi me gusta decir “Las musas las trajo la vida, yo simplemente traje el punto de vista” Asi es como ...
