Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 songs
$14.55 This was the soundtrack for a late-period entry in the disaster film cycle that focused on a mad bomber who terrorized California's amusement parks by bombing their roller coasters. Since much of Rollercoaster took place at amusement parks, the soundtrack required a complex mix of conventional thriller music and believable source music for the parks' attractions. Thankfully, composer Lalo Schifrin served up a score that managed to deliver on both counts. A great example is the album's opening cut, "Prologue, Montage": This medley of cues from the score, artfully merged with carefully mixed crowd noises, takes the listener through chamber music, funk, carnival-style calliope music, pop/rock, and conventional orchestral film music in just over five minutes. However, the resulting soundtrack album isn't a consistent listen despite Schifrin's ...
| | Aliens CD (1987) Remastered; Reissued
Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 album
$13.89 Digitally remastered by Dan Hersch (DigiPrep, Hollywood, California).
When James Horner accepted scoring duties for James Cameron's sci-fi epic Aliens, the composer was an inexperienced action specialist best known for two unremarkable Star Trek sequel scores that owed much and added little to Jerry Goldsmith's famous theme for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Aliens, too, was a sequel to a Goldsmith scored blockbuster. But this time Horner's efforts stood firmly on their own, borrowing little more than general mood from Goldsmith's Alien score. The dense ambient orchestrations and inventive electronic percussion used in Aliens were so well received in the film music community that many of the film's cues have become action flick clichés. Aliens also brought Horner his first Academy scoring nomination despite the fact that dissonant sci-fi action ...
| | Kitaro Soong Sisters CD (2002)
Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 CD music
$13.65 Original score composed by Kitaro and conducted by Randy Miller.
Kitaro's score for The Soong Sisters, the story of three sisters who grew up in pre-communist China, were educated in America, and ultimately married some of China's most powerful men, mixes Eastern and Western melodies and instruments into sweeping, often romantic pieces like "Dr. Sun and Ching-Ling" and the title track. The score also shows a surprising amount of variety, moving from tense, percussive tracks such as "Man on Fire" to lively, melodic pieces like "Waltz and War." Very little of the new age sound that Kitaro crafts in his albums appears in the score, although the soaring melodies of "The Bonfire" and "The Scroll is Read" share an affinity with his main work. A highly dramatic score, The Soong Sisters is the most ...

Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 music CDs
$11.39 Ever since the success of Bob Dylan in the mid-'60s transformed the notion of what constitutes a good, or even acceptable, singing voice for a recording artist, the term "singer/songwriter" has referred to someone whose superior songwriting ability made up for his or her vocal inadequacies (or whose rough voice actually lent authenticity to the mature tenor of ...

Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 CD music
$16.45 I am a Cuban-American born and raised in Miami, Florida. I have come up with something fresh, something innovative for the masses of music lovers. I write songs in English as well as Spanish. I want to broaden my horizons by playing on both English and Spanish radio. My style is what I like to call Spanish/English Intelli-Pop music. My collaborator is a young man by the name of Marcus Ruche. Together we wrote the core or foundation while working long nights at the United States Postal Service in 2003. We were searching for our goal and the dream of leaving our jobs and becoming established artists and songwriters. What I want to accomplish is that I want to be able to captivate and cultivate the natural essence that makes people the spiritual and sexual beings we are capable of being. My goals are to sell 100,000 copies of my self-titled debut CD and become well-known throughout the world. I want to promote through radio airplay to support ...
| | Clint Eastwood Stop That Train CD (1983) (Import) United Kingdom
Hitohira: Soundtrack Part 1 music CDs
$10.99 Tag-team DJ duos (as opposed to the more common and popular singer-DJ duo format) were quite unusual when this pair emerged in the late '70s, and they remain so today. But Clint Eastwood (younger brother of the legendary DJ Trinity) and General Saint proved that it could work, and if Stop That Train didn't achieve quite the success that Two Bad D.J. had, it was nevertheless a solid effort with several excellent tracks and filler that stopped short of being killer but was nevertheless perfectly serviceable for most dancehall needs. This reissue ...
