King Of Tha Ghetto It aint hard to tell that dat man Ro deserve his self proclaimed title (K.O.T.G). Thatz what he truly is. Regardless if you from da hood or not, if u appreciate realness go kop this. U can tell it's a undaground record wit Ro makin' all the beats, but the lyrical content won't let up at all "Going Down in the South"with a diss that isn't surprising but need to be said, "Strugglin' to Change", "Friends" "My Life"and "I'm A Gangsta" are da kutz I Like to ride to. | | R Kelly Chocolate Factory CD (2003)
Power CD music
$8.49 CHOCOLATE FACTORY was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album. "Step In The Name Of Love" was nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
In an effort to distract himself from the myriad post-millennial legal woes dogging him, R. Kelly retreated to the studio where in true fashion, he wrote, sang, produced, and arranged his sixth album CHOCOLATE FACTORY. In trying to escape from his personal problems, Kelly succeeded in coming up with a lengthy outing infused with the kind of slow soul that brings to mind great names like Al Green and Marvin Gaye. The laid-back harmonies and testimonial fervor of "Forever" scream Gamble & Huff-produced Stylistics, light funk beats propel "You Knock Me Out," and the remix of "Step In the Name of Love" finds the Chicago native lifting Gaye's phrasing from the "What's Goin' On" era and pumping it into this mid-tempo jam.
Breaking up this solo slow-jam fest are guest shots by Ja Rule (an embattled "Been Around the World"), Ronald Isley (the skit-song "Showdown"), and Fat Joe (the Latin-pop-flavored "Who's That".) Although CHOCOLATE FACTORY could stand a bit of trimming, its musical essence reflects a rich talent whose personal travails ...
| | Kenny Chesney All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan CD (2003)
Power music CDs
$8.69 No matter who you are, if you're a big enough country music star, sooner or later you're going to wind up making a Christmas album. So it was with Kenny Chesney and ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. However, Chesney switched things up a bit by abandoning the usual reindeer-and-snowflakes motif in favor of a title song that finds him longing for a Yuletide island vacation a la Jimmy Buffett. The island sound even extends to an unconventional, calypso-style reworking of "Jingle Bells." Of course, Chesney's too savvy to leave his audience completely disoriented, so he includes a straightforward rendition of Willie Nelson's classic "Pretty Paper" with assistance ...

Power album
$14.55 Usually what makes a remix collection exciting is the rhythmic and textural variety it can deliver. Unfortunately, when you see a two-disc set titled Ultimate Dance Remixed and the word "dance" is printed in larger type than the word "remixed," you can pretty much expect that the beats are all going to be the usual house-based thud-thud-thud that generally seems to be implied by the words "club" or "dance." That doesn't mean that none of the songs will be exciting or that none of the mixes will be creative, but it does mean that as a listening experience, the program will get pretty tedious by the end of the first disc. This one starts out on the wrong foot: Eric Prydz's "In & Out" never gets off the ground, weighed ...
