| All That Remains Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) "First Album" a Success! This is the Fozzy's first all-original album. It has a great line up of guest appearences-Zakk Wylde, Marty Freidman, Bonecrusher- and it has all the characteristics of a true Hard Rock/ Metal album.
Musically, it is very good, with hard and heavy guitar riffs where they need to be, and then the more slow and gentle ones like "Enemy". The drumming exhibited by Eric Sanders is pretty good, and the most of the solos are exceptional.
The sound quality of this album is very good; everything is clearly audible and the vocals are never over-run by the drums, bass, or guitar.
One of the best aspects of this album, in my opinion, was the exceptionally well done lyrics. Rich Ward went all out in the writing process on this album and every song on the album has perfect lyrics. Chris Jericho`s singing can be described as an "early Ozzy Osbourne" type of style at some points. He has the high-note abilities, like those of Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford, but he also has a certain grundge-sound to his voice and this was very appealing to me.
For the band`s first original album, it was done exceptionally well and as Fozzy progresses and becomes more of a complete, permanent band, I imagine that they will make a break-through and become widely-known and appreciated world wide.

All That Remains album
$10.95 The follow-up to Extol's well-received debut, Burial, Undeceived only enhanced the group's progressive/death metal reputation. Adding generous amounts of violin and cello parts to their Christian death metal bombast, Extol deepened their musical pallet without weakening Undeceived and its aggressive metal stance. The guitar and bass playing is exceptionally precise throughout this disc. Musicians might want to check out the title track and "Where Sleep Is Rest" if any inspiration is needed to finish out those eight-hour days of hyperspeed woodsheding. There are also quasi-jazz moments of complex melodicism and even mellower acoustic tracks offering brief sedation. All of this breaks things up nicely without sounding too experimental. Perhaps "A Structure of Souls" best encapsulates this musical diversity and all-out heaviness that defines Extol. There aren't many weak or one-sided tracks on Undeceived, ...
| | Leaves' Eyes Njord CD (2009) Bonus Tracks; Limited Edition; Digipak
All That Remains CD music
$14.39 Leaves' Eyes (basically, the German band Atrocity plus former Theatre of Tragedy vocalist Liv Kristine) took four years between their second album,Vinland Saga, and this one. In between, they've released two EPs with almost a full album's worth of B-sides between them, and a live disc, but still, the pressure must have been on to come up with a major statement, and they've done so. Njord is a sweeping, epic album that exemplifies the band's Gothic/Viking metal sound, with the clean, clear vocals of Liv Kristine contrasted against the guttural death growls of her husband, Atrocity founder Alexander Krull, atop a combination of crunching guitar riffs, mechanistic drums, melodic keyboards, and the occasional folk instrument or wash of strings. The sound of waves lapping the Northern European coastline takes several songs in and out. There's only one real misstep here, which is the power ballad treatment of the folk song "Scarborough Fair." Otherwise, Njord is guaranteed to please fans of bands like Lacuna Coil, Eyes of Eden, Nightwish, et al. There aren't many super-aggressive songs here; Cannibal Corpse fans should stay away. ...
| | Megadeth Endgame CD (2009)
All That Remains music CDs
$15.65 The release of 2009's ENDGAME brings with it a startling realization: if first-generation thrash metal fans had been polled about which of the genre's "Big Four" -- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth -- would prove to be the most resilient and consistently prolific over the next quarter century, the only sure-fire consensus would probably have been "well, anyone but Megadeth!" And yet, 12 studio albums and 150-plus songs later -- more than any of the other three have managed -- that's exactly what's come to pass. The group's second release for Roadrunner, whose title apparently refers to "coming full circle" rather than any sort of goodbye, finds the latest iteration of Megadeth-- debuting new guitarist Chris Broderick(ex-Nevermore, Jag Panzer)--working primarily within their technical thrash comfort zone (think PEACE SELLS through RUST IN PEACE), with only a few latter-day elements and rare experimental diversions. As such, deceptively simple guitar-shredding master classes like "This Day We Fight!," "1,320" (surprisingly, written about "funny car" racing), and first single "Headcrusher" are cut from ...

| | Anvil Forged In Fire CD (1983) (Import) Canada
All That Remains CD music
$14.99 The second of Anvil's two influential cult classics, FORGED IN FIRE essentially refines the blueprint laid out on METAL ON METAL, showing a band more firmly in control of its muse. Lips's vocal performance is more polished and varied, yet no less unhinged; the technical riffery of the uptempo numbers is even more challenging; and Robb Reiner delivers a jaw-dropping performance, pulling out his genre-changing double-bass-drum technique on nearly every song and never letting the record's momentum flag. Even with all the blistering intensity on display here, FORGED IN FIRE isn't the all-out assault of KILL 'EM ALL; Anvil lacked the darker visions of the coming thrash movement, clearly having too much fun to conjure a tough-guy image. The heart of the album lies in the speed metal mayhem, but the band changes things up often enough to prevent monotony; the title track is a slow, head-pounding anthem, while the metal paean "Free as the Wind" and the groupie tribute "Hard Times -- Fast Ladies" strike a controlled balance between velocity and accessibility. Although METAL ON METAL is the more historically important release, Anvil aficionados often rate FORGED IN FIRE as the slightly better of the two simply by virtue of sheer musicality. This would be Anvil's last hurrah as heavy metal torchbearers; in 1983 alone, Def Leppard and Quiet Riot kicked off metal's conquest of the pop charts, while debut albums from Metallica and Slayer obliterated all standards of extremity in the metal underground. In the coming years, those two increasingly ...
| | Jimmy Little Messenger CD (2000) Import
All That Remains music CDs
$12.79 Little Jimmy is a commercially popular Australian aboriginal artist, and MESSENGER shows what his aesthetic is all about. "Down Below," "Into Temptation," and "Alone With You" are among the tracks.
Messenger features Australian legend Jimmy Little collaborating with Brendan Gallagher, who not only producers, arranges, and records the album, but also plays a large majority of the instruments on each song. Going into this album, Gallagher had wanted to re-record a number of Australia's most noteworthy artists, and in Little he found a vocalist worthy of such an ambitious project. Together, the two re-recorded a total of 11 songs, all originally performed by Australian musical artists. Some of the covers include the Church's "Under the Milky Way," Crowded House's "Into Temptation," ...
