Detonador De Suenos album
$12.09 The very first moments of Rodrigo y Gabriela's sophomore effort, 11:11, hit the listener cold in the face, and not just because of the amazing guitar playing. Sure, it's there, but it's what anyone who heard the duo's astonishing debut would expect. No, it's the sound of the record: immediate, forceful, crystalline; it's in-your-face compelling and impossible to ignore. 11:11 features 11 new compositions, dedicated to 11 musical artists (not all guitarists, either) who have had an influence on the duo. Recorded in Ixtapa, Mexico, the set was self-produced with the exception of two cuts, which were co-produced with John ...

| | Eric Burdon Love Is All Around CD (1976)
Detonador De Suenos songs
$9.75 An odd collection of live tracks and what sound like cuts from the two Eric Burdon and War albums released at the turn of the '70s, 1976's LOVE IS ALL AROUND was probably a contractual obligation album. That said, it's a pretty terrific collection of long, loose War jams, which sound marvelous.
Limber rhythms and dead-on horn and harmonica accents made this L.A. band one of the premier funk outfits of the '70s. Unfortunately, as was usually the case with Eric Burdon and War, their free-flowing funkiness and his more constricted, blues-based singing style don't always mesh as well as they might, as on the slightly awkward verses of the title track. But when War opens up and lets loose, it's hard to imagine a better band.
Includes liner notes by Barry Alfonso.
Personnel: Eric Burdon (vocals, percussion); Howard Scott (vocals, guitar); Charles Miller (vocals, flute, saxophone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, percussion); Lee Oskar (vocals, harmonica, percussion); Lonnie Jordan (vocals, piano, organ); Harold Brown (vocals, drums, percussion); Papa Dee Allen (vocals, congas, bongos, ...
| | George Jones 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection CD (2000)
Detonador De Suenos album
$8.09 Digitally remastered by Elliott Federman (SAJE Sound, New York, New York).
This is part of MCA's 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection series.
THE BEST OF GEORGE JONES showcases Jones' knack for pulling deep emotion from a lyric, moving heart and mind simultaneously. Just about every tune on this album is a gem. Singing poignant laments about life's ups and downs, and the pangs of love's loss, Jones offers listeners a glimpse into their own lives.
In fact, the ability to uncover universal truths about life's seemingly endless woes seems ...

| | In Concerto: Fabrizio De Andre & PFM, Vol. 1 CD (1979) (Import) Germany
Detonador De Suenos songs
$22.99 Fans had to wait almost a decade to see Fabrizio De André performing live, since the Genoese songwriter famously shunned all public appearances until 1975, and only sporadically gave concerts or interviews after that. As a result, every De André tour became an event in its own right. This 1979 tour in particular was very eagerly awaited because De André had asked Premiata Forneria Marconi (also know as PFM), the most popular Italian rock band at the time, not only to be his supporting band, but also to decide the repertoire and work out new arrangements for De André's classics. The collaboration was a resounding success. For all his reluctance to perform live, De André had a natural stage presence and he sounds positively exhilarated throughout the set. PFM's rethinking of the material along the lines of '70s progressive rock is always interesting to hear, with synthesizer counter-melodies taking the place of ...
| | Cheri Magill Ready CD (2006)
Detonador De Suenos album
$16.19 Somewhere between the serene estro-pop of Sarah McLachlan, the angsty girl-woman guitar-rock of Michelle Branch and the hushed playfulness of the country diva of your choice (Shania, Faith, et al), Cheri Magill radiates the kind of natural warmth and personal connectivity some of the above have paid handlers millions for. Thanks to Ready\'s glossy-crisp production (by Silvercrush\'s Steele Croswhite) wed to Magill\'s dulcet voice, smart lyrics and sure ...
