Jag Panzer's melodic hard rock style might sound like a throwback in the late '90s, but while The Fourth Judgement [sic], their comeback album, may seem out of step with the times, it's actually quite well-crafted and will not disappoint longtime fans, or those who appreciate Gothic-tinged British bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. ~ Steve Huey

Jag Panzer Fourth Judgement Songs Fourth Judgement Music Review A big sigh of relief. Finally, a heavy metal album made in the nineties that rivals it's predecessors of the eighties. With all the rubbish on Q 101 and other radio stations these days, it's nice to know that somebody in today's degenerating society can still put out good metal music. Congratulations to Jag Panzer for sticking it out for over 15 years without ever selling out!! Submitted by a reviewer (Kenosha, WI) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Fourth Judgement album
$6.19 The '60s Blues Revival begins here. Calling this album influential is an understatement akin to calling the Grand Canyon a rut; suffice to say that an entire generation of musicians (mostly young and white) heard this and had their lives changed forever. In fact, for at least a year after the album's ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Fourth Judgement CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition ...
| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
Fourth Judgement music CDs
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Progressive rock fans lamenting the modern era's relative lack of story-driven albums ...
| | Antony I Am A Bird Now CD (2005)
Fourth Judgement songs
$12.49 Though he probably achieved his greatest mainstream recognition backing up Lou Reed on tour, idiosyncratic songbird Antony is a fully established artiste in his own right. Backed by the Johnsons, as on I AM A BIRD NOW, he crafts delicate ballads that skirt the lines between cabaret, artsong, and pop, with the kind of voice that Stephin Merritt would probably kill for. Antony's unique pipes bring to mind an androgynous Bryan Ferry or a high, quavery summit meeting between Jimmy Scott ...

| | Trapeze CD (1970)
Fourth Judgement album
$14.29 By 1975, Trapeze were a long, long way from the exquisite pastures of their debut album -- and a long way, too, from the days when the Moody Blues could be ranked among their biggest fans, as well as their employers (the band was originally signed to the Moodies' Threshold label). But maybe hoping for at least a splash of that old magic to resurface, the band titled its final LP after its first -- plain ol' Trapeze -- and the bandmembers did their best to look their imminent demise full in the face. Maybe they didn't know what fate had in store for them as they recorded this, but Trapeze is still a dour little disc, desperately missing the funk infusions of Glenn Hughes and, for the most part, overshadowed even by its disappointing predecessor. "Star Breaker," the opening cut, is probably the best thing here; for the most part, though, Trapeze is lumpen rock by rote, dull and dismissed by all but the most desperately faithful. ~ Dave Thompson
Trapeze were the first act signed by the Moody Blues to their newly founded Threshold Records label, and remain the most substantial talent -- along with Nicky James -- ever to pass through that company's roster, apart from the Moodies themselves. Those listeners who only know the subsequent albums by Trapeze may be surprised by this debut effort, the sole recording left behind by the original five-piece version of the band. With Moody Blues bassist John Lodge producing a lineup that included ex-Montanas lead singer John Jones and guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley alongside singer/guitarist Mel Galley, bassist Glenn Hughes, and drummer Dave Holland, late of Finders Keepers, the sounds here don't closely resemble the hard-rocking work of the subsequent trio -- there are lush choruses, psychedelic interludes, and hook-laden romantic ballads scattered throughout this record. Yet that trio, of Hughes, Galley, and Holland, is pumping out high-energy music within the context of psychedelic pop/rock throughout this album, which comes off as a much higher-wattage alternative to the Moody Blues. And in some respects, this album also closely resembles the better moments on those three early Deep Purple albums (the ones with Rod Evans on lead vocals), when they were essentially a hard rock outfit still playing pop/rock -- the results aren't bad and, in fact, are quite catchy at times, but it's clear that three of these musicians are holding ...
