| | Cribs Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever CD Cribs Discography of CDs
Another band in the long line of British post-punk revivalists, the Cribs join contemporaries like Franz Ferdinand, the Futureheads, and the Kaiser Chiefs in the celebration of choppy, danceable rhythms, and guitars splayed at right angles, all powered by a serious blast of energy and melody. The Cribs major-label debut, MEN'S NEEDS, WOMEN'S NEEDS, WHATEVER (2007), mines this territory effectively, and, while the style may be somewhat played out, the band compensates by turning in a batch of excellent, absurdly catchy tunes that are by turns anthemic ("Our Bovine Public") and streamlined ("I've Tried Everything"). Franz Ferdinand producer Alex Kapranos gives the album its defining sound, wrapping up a pleasurable package of pure post-punk fun.
2007 Japanese release of the third album by Yorkshire's band of brothers, twins Ryan and Gary and their younger sibling Ross Jarman. The trio traveled to Vancouver, Canada to record this effort at Bryan Adams "haunted studio" with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand sitting behind the board in the producer's chair. This edition includes two bonus tracks: "Tonight" and "I've Tried Everything (Acoustic Version)".
The Cribs: Ryan James Jarman, Gary John Jarman, Ross Anthony Jarman.
Additional personnel: Lee Ranaldo.
Rolling Stone (p.70) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[T]heir melodies unfold over time....Finally, the Cribs deliver the tour de force they had in them..." Alternative Press (p.168) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "[They] craft fun, skinny slacker-punk anthems....[They] infuse their wonderfully titled third album with intriguing departures and a hearty misanthropic streak..." Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever Music Cribs Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever Songs Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever Music Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever Music Review My, is this a wonder! The lowest turning point is you try a track known "I'm a Realist" and the lyrics can be blantantly stupid sometimes, downright laughable. This album and band are desperately seeking a nom? The band used the frontman of Franz Ferdinand in the making of this album should be no surprise. North America does it too sometimes. Wanna know this band, then travel overseas. No, wait, just kidding! Word is spreading quickly, so don't delay! Listen! Submitted by Hmmm (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever songs
$17.15 Eckhard Naujoks was born in Schweinfurt. He studied archaeology and was trained as a sculptor, but from an very early age on music became a driving force in his life. It was mainly the music of the Beatles, the Doors and Bob Dylan that touched him. "This music has a depth, honesty and inspirational power that is unusual in the pop music scene. Its influence was really a life changing experience, only because the musicians wanted to be themselves and give their life some meaning".Eckhard Naujoks developed his own style as a songwriter on a long journey through Asia, Australia and North Amerika, where he also gave his first concerts.By now, he has recorded his songs with worldclass musicians and gave concerts on various well-esteemed stages and festivals.Eckhard Naujoks lives as an art dealer near Munich.Personal notes:It is not possible for me to mention all the influences of my songwriting style, but certainly they go back further than Elvis, Chuck Berry and Bill Haley. Rock 'n' Roll comes alive for me in the attempt of an individuum to live up to his own rules and to step out of the shadows of society's expectations. From that perspective Rock 'n' Roll is as old as the human race. To my understanding men like Sokrates, Lao Tzu, Heraklit, Buddha and Jesus are all Rock 'n' Rollers, because they are archetypes of an authentic person, and artists like Shakespeare, Molière, Mozart, Beethoven or Hesse are as well. You don't need to play a guitar, have tattoos and piercings all over your body and shout "come on, baby" to be a Rock 'n' Roller. This music style is more than the cliché, which is sold by the media and the music industry. Rock 'n' Roll is an attitude! In that sense I hope I did contribute some Rock 'n' Roll songs. This music is a great outlet that makes it possible for me to grow and change. And I feel a deep gratitude, because this music helps me to live my joy, my love and ideals. How much I have been able to express this in my songs is hard for me to tell ...
