Missing Element album
$11.39 Perfect In Plastic is the logical result of great musicians stuck in a not so great popular culture climate.Ranging stylistically from industrial rock to power reggae ballads, and everything in between (sometimes in the same song!) you are certain to love at least half of their material. The music is full of power and pop hooks that are so good, you end up humming them the next morning. What is most amazing is all this sound comes from just two people.Singing and playing guitar is local enigma/genius Todd B, and on drums, guitar and the mic, the much sought after Kenn Gibney. The two members of Perfect in Plastic played together previously in the techno industrial group DeadRedHead.Together they played all over Oregon, and up & down the I-5 corridor with the likes of Floater and TV:616.After the demise of DRH, Todd and Kenn started over with the intention of writing music that could not be pigeonholed into a nice tidy genre. Each song is very different from the next, yet somehow manages to form a cohesive album. This music is real - there is no mold to fit into, and no boundaries to observe.Perfect in Plastic bends the rules, and has that rare luxury made possible by bands like Ween, Beck and R.E.M. - they get to reinvent themselves with every song, on every album.Perfect in Plastic released their first album 'The Bomb Batch' (self-produced, and available through their website for free) in October of 2000.Their second album, "Fdisk" was just released July 12th, 2001.Music style Intelligent alternative rock Musical influences Ween, Mr. Bungle, Atari Teenage Riot, Bloodhound Gang Similar Artists Atari Teenage Riot meets Ween Artist history Like Nine Inch Nails is Trent Reznor, Perfect in Plastic is Todd B and Kenn Gibney.Often described as polar opposites, Todd and Kenn comprise a team in league with Lennon and McCartney, or Simon and Garfunkel. The creativity and drive is unlike anything most bands ever come close to capturing.Todd B is the musical mastermind. He throws away songs that most people would die to write. He started his musical journey at the age of 10, playing saxophone. He was in Jazz bands as a teenager, and later learned to play guitar, bass, piano, drums, and anything else he could get his hands on. He first sang with a garage band called Crashworthy Grasshopper, which, like Perfect in Plastic was very eclectic and "Mr. Bungle-esque." He was in a techno project called Gabriel Might for a year, played in a group with Adrian of Slowrush called Juice, and then set out to assemble DeadRedHead.Kenn was the latest addition to the group. After 5 years of fronting DRH the group split, and now Perfect in Plastic is his focus. Kenn provides the voice of reason and sanity in the group - he's been playing in local bands for the last 12 years, finally finding the ideal musical endeavor with Perfect in Plastic. In DeadRedHead, he kept perfect time playing along at live shows with a drum machine, and turned it into what fans described as "a symphony of percussion." It's no wonder that Kenn is considered by peers and fans alike to be one of the top five drummers in Portland, or that other groups proposition him constantly. He has turned down some very significant offers by the city's most elite bands, preferring instead to lend his percussion skills to the rule-bending, incredibly motivated, resourceful & brilliant Perfect in Plastic. In addition to being a drummer, Kenn is also multi-instrumental, so this group gives him an outlet both as a guitarist, and (surprisingly) an M.C..Kenn has been writing and recording his own blend of old school influenced rapmusic for several years now - 'The Bomb Batch' includes his first official release ...

$17.09 South Londoner Mark Pember has long been a fixture on the breakbeat scene under the pseudonym Meat Katie. Bridging the rougher edges of underground breaks with the buoyant, club-ready rhythms of house music, VIBRATOR eases over such genre distinctions by creating a propulsive, up-tempo dance-friendly mix. Emphasizing clinical drumbeats and razor-sharp ...
