You gotta give San Diego emo band My American Heart credit for productivity if nothing else: they released their debut in 2006, and less than a year later, they dropped a new record, HIDING INSIDE THE HORRIBLE WEATHER. Not bad for a group of kids who couldn't legally drink when they were signed. The music doesn't veer far off the well-trod stylistic path of emo and pop-punk, but this is still a solid collection of tunes about breakups and bad parents that should appeal to their angsty target fanbase.
