| | Ozzy Osbourne Black Rain CD Ozzy Osbourne Discography of CDs
Lyrically Ozzy makes some familiar anti-war statements ("Black Rain" and "Countdown's Begun"), delivers social and political commentary ("Almighty Dollar" and "Civilize The Universe"), and offers affection for his fans and loved ones ("Here For You" and "Lay Your World On Me"). Clean and sober for over two years, the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness is in remarkably strong and healthy form on BLACK RAIN.
Limited Edition UK pressing of Ozzy's 2007 album comes housed in bootleg-style cardboard packaging. Black Rain is Osbourne's first new studio material in six years. Ozzy co-produced the album with Kevin Churko and recorded it with his touring band: Zakk Wylde (guitar), Mike Bordin (drums) and Blasko (bass). Ozzy feels this album is the true follow-up to his classic No More Tears, the 1991 album that also challenged the expectations of what an Ozzy album should sound like. Some of the songs on Black Rain are ominous in their emotional tone--they examine a world teeming with greed, war, deception, bad drugs ("11 Silver," about crystal meth) and environmental havoc. The Ozzman also zooms in on the overriding sense of fear and dread that define our times--perpetrated, he feels, by news programs that make "entertainment" out of terrible news events. Columbia.
Six years on since 2001's largely forgettable DOWN TO EARTH, BLACK RAIN marks a bit of a comeback for Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy's live band (featuring longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, drummer Mike Bordin, and bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson) were called to arms at Oz's Los Angeles home studio to deliver the kind of heavy grooves and down-tuned hard rock that sate fans old and new. Wylde's trademark vibrato and false harmonics on the opening track, in particular, set a hard-hitting tone for this fresh set of tracks.
Personnel: Mike Bordin, Zakk Wylde, Blasko.

| | Katatonia Great Cold Distance CD (2006)
Black Rain CD music
$16.19 Coming three full years after 2003's Viva Emptiness, The Great Cold Distance continues the trend toward the mainstream that Katatonia began with that album. Singer Jonas Renske -- who apparently lost his ability to do the now-clichéd Cookie Monster vocals some years ago due to medical problems -- has refined his voice into a much smoother and, surprisingly, more powerful instrument that's capable of greater emotional shadings. Similarly, this album forsakes the blastbeats ...
| | Gang Green Another Case Of Brewtality CD (1997)
Black Rain music CDs
$11.49 Boston's snottiest metal-core practitioners return with an economical album packing plenty of fluid guitar punch. Yet the irreverence which once moved frontman Chris Doherty's mob to demolish Til Tuesday's "Voices Carry" remains proudly intact (although history does not record how their peers felt). "Eviction Party!" and "This Job Sucks" have no trouble upholding the brattiness of yore. However, neither does the band champion self-abuse for its own sake, as "Out on the Couch"'s bleary-eyed boozer makes plain. "I'll Worry About It Monday," "I Missed It," "Living in Oblivion," and "Accidental Overdose" issue similar admonitions to straighten out before self-destruction takes over. Still other songs warn against nursing grudges ("Death of the Party"), forgetting to communicate ("Don't You Know"), and sexual jealousy ("Tricked into Bed...Again"). The group also displays a serious political outlook on "6,000 Crucified Slaves" and a righteously angry rampage through Stiff Little Fingers' anti-British standard, "Suspect Device." The mood is crisp and economical, with ...

| | Clas Yngstrom Fat Guitar CD (2000)
Black Rain music CDs
$18.99 Clas Yngström is of Europe's hardest working rock-blues guitarists! Since the start of his touring band - SKY HIGH, late 1978, he has toured all over the world - to this day he´s done well over 3.500 gigs - from Los Angeles in the west to Calcutta!! in the east. Starting out in Gothenburg, on the Swedish West Coast, they soon got famous for their interpretations of the late Jimi Hendrix work. They were a big sensation at the Jimi Hendrix memorial fest at Paradiso Club, Amsterdam, 1980. After Sky High had completed their set Jimi´s original drummer Mitch Mitchell rushed to the stage to do an inspired jam with Clas Yngström and Börje Olevald, guitar & bass with Sky High. English music paper Melody Maker wrote that Sky High gave the most exciting performance at the fest!By the time they went into the studio to record their first album in the fall of 1980, the repertoire had turned more to originals. Sky High have released 11 albums to this day, the latest one - "Bluester" was released in November. 1999. Right now the band are completing the work of what is to become a live Dvd (digital video disc) featuring a live appearance at a blues-club in their hometown of Falun, Sweden. The late Alexis Corner, father of British Blues, presented Sky High in his national BBC Sunday bluesShow in 1982. Sky High have shared bill with most contemporary international blues acts such as: BB King, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Taj Mahal etc...many of who, with great enthusiasm, have expressed their liking of Sky High´s performances. In 1983 Sky High was asked by Billy Gibbons of ZZ-Top to play support on the European leg of the Eliminator tour - his management turned the idea down pointing out that Yngström, being such a heck of a guitar player, might be stealing the show! In 1988 the band were invited by Chuck Berry´s manager Quint Davis to play the prestigious New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, this was a gesture to the band who had supported Mr. Berry during a tour in Scandinavia earlier that year. After the last gig Mr. Chuck Berry himself approached Clas Yngström, Sky High´s guitarist and singer, with a big hug! and the words: " I really love your music and you play that low down blues too!" - Clas and the rest of the band were then invited to Mr. Berry´s private dressing room for a drink and some snap shots. That same summer they also played to their largest audience ever over in Tallin, Estonia, where Sky High rocked a roaring 300,000! blues and rock loving Sovietskys at "Glasnost Rock"!Later that year Clas recorded an American Sky High-album in San Francisco with Prairie Prince ( from The Tubes) on drums, Ross Valory ( ex. Journey ) and Norton Buffalo ( Steve Miller Band) on harmonica. The album "Have Guitar, Will Travel" was followed by a tour of Scandinavia. In spite of being a dedicated blues-band Sky high have had quite a bit of chart success: in 1987 the song "Don't Move" reached to no. 6 on the Swedish national top -10 list, another hit- "I Ain't Beggin´" peaked at number 8 in .85 - That same song was also featured in the American movie - "The ...
