||a must buy for beau fans|
i bought this gem when it 1st was released as an lp in 1975. in fact, i also own two copies of the 45 rpm release of the single "You tell me why" from that album. this is a redone studio cover of the original recording done back in 1965. it is truly a masterful re-recording by Ron Elliott,the original guitarist and author of the song. Elliott simply plays an updated acoustic version of the original and adds some strings along with Sal's incredible vocals. this opening track is worth the purchase price alone and absolutely blows the original song to shreds! one of the most under appreciated songs in the history of pop music for certain! the songs, "Singing Cowboy" and "Goldrush" from this 1975 release are also worthy of your listening time and time again. paul from cable access t.v. ||A Terrific Album for Beau Fans|
pqtalknroll hit it right on the head. I also bought this LP when it was first released. I am considering purchasing the CD, as the vinyl is somewhat scratched.

||Perhaps they shouldn't have reunited|
This is a short (32 minutes!) CD of, at best, only passable material. The band (which broke up again as this CD was being originally released) sounds as if its individual members don't really even wish to play with each other. Oh, Sal Valentino still sings fine, but the passion is gone, everybody else is just plowing through the motions in search of a paycheck.

||1975 Reunion Compact Disc|
I have had a copy of the L.P for 12 years. As such I finally got around to buying the compact disc version. Although the disc is a bit expensive, I believe if you're a fan of the Beau Brummels you won't be dissapointed. The sound is superb and the packaging includes articles and pictures which were not included with the original L.P. As for the performance, the Beau Brummels sound like they were quite aware and adept of mid 1970's pop-rock -country recording and performing techniques.
