Pretty good stuff... "The Color Of Silence" was an amazing record from Tiff a few years back, and i was hoping she would recapture that glory here. Kinda does, but not really. Some of the lyrics sound forced, and it seems her vocals are far too loud for the instrumentation, making it sound like she's singing over a karaoke track. Other than that, most of it is enjoyable..if only it were mixed properly...:) Submitted by Adam J (Tulsa, OK, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

80s Girl Still Going..... I have been a fan of tiffany's since she debuted with "I think we're alone now" 20 years ago, and i've managed to buy all of her cds. "Just Me" is a first rate album by a yesteryear pop diva. i was a little disappointed with the fact that it's not dance music like her last cd, "Dust off and dance", but this cd is reminiscent of "The color of silence", the cd she put out in 2001. i waited for this cd to be released in stores, it was held back for a few weeks (which always happens to cds i want....lol), but it was worth the wait. highlights in my opinion: "Feels like love", "Just me", and "I will not breakdown" (which was originally released on "The color of silence"). keep recording tiffany!, if only debbie gibson would put out a new cd...... Purchase Just Me CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Josh Turner Long Black Train CD (2003)
Just Me album
$10.45 Josh Turner seems to belong to a generation of country singers debuting in the late-1990s/early 2000s who were influenced by the middlebrow New Traditionalism of artists like Randy Travis and George Strait in the '80s. Accordingly, Turner's first offering, LONG BLACK TRAIN, strikes an uneasy bargain with Nashville commerciality, ...
| | Debbie Gibson Colored Lights: The Broadway Album CD (2003)
Just Me CD music
$14.25 Deborah Gibson's theatrical soul has often made close brushes with her pop persona. Even while singing all that '80s nostalgia, there were traces of a young Broadway starlet seeping through. In between previous pop releases, Gibson acted on and off Broadway in just about everything (notably Les Miserables, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and opposite Betty Buckley in Gypsy). Here, at last, is her no-nonsense "Broadway Album." For those outside walking distance to the venues in which she performed, this will be the first full-on introduction to Gibson as theatrical star. The track selections are wise, ranging from familiar ("On My Own") to obscure (the upbeat Latin pop song "Raise the Roof"), with traditional and modern imprints stamped according to her taste. She pads the album with "Sex," self-penned doo wop from an upcoming project, which works as an interlude. Poor fans who fear that she is headed down a dark tunnel that leads to a public kiss with Madonna should listen carefully to her lyrical winking: "Dad's '59 Chevy or Grandma's Ford Fairlane...anyplace is fair game." Now, the question is, where will Gibson's career lead from here? She wrote some amazing material on 1995's Think With ...
| | John Fogerty Deja Vu All Over Again CD (2004)
Just Me music CDs
$10.75 Attention rock & roll fans! Presenting John Fogerty--the name you know, the music you trust--in a new, improved 2004 version! DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN contains tunes that admirers of classic rock can appreciate, like the old-school, acoustic blues-rock of "Honey Do." The record features themes reminiscent of Fogerty's heyday, particularly the quasi-political title track. And, just when you thought it couldn't get any better, there's Mark Knopfler laying down those "Sultans of Swing" licks on "Nobody's Here Anymore." Owing a lot to Creedence Clearwater Revival circa PENDULUM, the DEJA VU of the album's title feels more like a summing ...
| | Joss Stone Mind Body & Soul CD (2004)
Just Me songs
$11.69 This sophomore Stone disc presents a deep stack of all-original soul songs that finds the Devon, England vocalist and her crew sounding a bit more contemporary. "You Had Me" pairs Stone's powerful voice with a clavinet, a dash of strings, and a funky beat for a track that wouldn't be out of place on a Beyonce record. The down-tempo material also works well, whether it's the call-and response slow jam "Jet Lag" or "Right to Be Wrong," with its Muscle Shoals vibe of crisp guitar licks and laidback organ. The UK native also successfully dabbles in reggae (the loping "Less Is More") and more gospel-flavored fare (the uplifting "Security"), stretching her expressive pipes beyond the emotive R&B that made her famous. With confidence ...
| | Kelly Clarkson Breakaway CD (2004)
Just Me album
$9.59 With 2003's THANKFUL, Kelly Clarkson proved that her AMERICAN IDOL win was no fluke by putting out a solid album of gospel-influenced R&B performed with the panache of a seasoned veteran. In late 2004, the Texas native delivered on the promise of her sophomore record's title, BREAKAWAY, by diving headfirst into alternative-rock-flavored pop of the Avril Lavigne/Michelle Branch variety. Though there are still a few R&B-inspired moments here ("Because of You" is a soulful, string-laced ballad in the best Mariah Carey tradition), most of the album has a much harder edge than fans of THANKFUL would likely expect. In other spots, Clarkson goes the moody chanteuse route, particularly on "Addicted," where she channels the spooky melancholy of Fiona Apple with surprising conviction. Clarkson herself co-writes several songs on the disc, which, combined with the record's unexpected musical variety, suggests a talented vocalist coming into her own as an artist as well as a performer.
Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol winner and the first vocalist to achieve success, but her 2003 debut, Thankful, didn't completely define her outside of the parameters of the show. While the dance-pop and adult contemporary ballads ...
