This is one of my favorite cds and since buying it about a month ago, I have listened to it every day.
The recording produced to celebrate the 250th Anniversary (2006) of the great baroque Master Antonio Giacomo Perti. includes a short mass (not dated) 2 psalms: Laudate pueri (1698) and Dixit dominus, Magnificat and , sacred symphonies(supposed to be performed before masses)
Performers:Orchestra Barocca di Bologna on period instruments (strings, positive organ); 4 parts choir “Color Temporis” –(female sopranos and altos, tenor, bass).
The mass consists of Kyrie and Gloria. Gloria is the longest piece with a very differentiated structure :secions for choir, soloist, duets , 3 voices (whereby the violins take their own part in fugues), slow sections followed by fast ones.The symphonies are of a very vivacious character .
All The performers are excellent and are well versed in the early music genre. The balance between voices and accompanying instruments is good but the are some slight sound distorions in high frequency band (perceivable when listening on headphones). The Gloria of Laudate Dominus is one of the most beautiful barogue tunes I know.

This split album begins with a six-pack of tunes from Heaven Shall Burn, who waste no time after an industrial opening to break out into the heavy and hard "Unleash Enlightment." Lead singer Marcus Bischoff blends his singing with a guttural wail at times, while the twin guitars pump out solid metal riffs. Think of groups like At the Gates and Earth Crisis and you will get the picture here. They are also capable of thick and beefy nu metal arrangements. Loud and punishing throughout, Heaven Shall Burn tear into "No One Will Shed a Tear," which has a strong but pedestrian-like groove running through it. The odd song is the tender, Faith No More-ish orchestral instrumental "Nyfćdd Von," which has more in common with Sigur Rós than Metallica. It's an aberration, however, once the hellish "If This Is a Man" rears its primal hardcore metal head. The highlight of the group's offering is the simple but shining performance of "Downfall of Christ," with a great chorus and drummer Matthias Voigt working triple time. Caliban's sound is more intense and, if possible, harder on their leadoff song, "The Revenge." Singer Andy Dorner's thick accent makes some of the lyrics harder to understand. What isn't difficult to know is that the group's rhythm section is the key to most songs, particularly the punishing "Arena of Concealment" and "One Day," which digs deep for its militaristic feel ŕ la "One" by Metallica. "A Summer Dream" might have been a dream song at one point, but there are too many turns throughout the song to give it a level of consistency. It's as if they've mixed metal with emo on this track, with the results being average at best. ~ Jason MacNeil

A contemporary classical composer from Japan, Mamoru Fujieda fashions music literally based on nature--in this case, plants--and a confluence of Eastern and Western musical traditions as well as acoustic and electronic media. PATTERNS is scored for koto (a huge, dulcimer-like instrument), sho (a Japanese mouth organ), and violin, and it exists seemingly in its own space, where the sustained tones of minimalism overlap with the stark beauty of Japanese folk forms. Cutting-edge yet warm, complex yet intimate, PATTERNS OF PLANTS II is a provocative and enchanting gem.
