The mix focuses on Screw's Houston camp of rappers (the Screwed Up Click), including tracks by Mobb Figgas, Hardheadz, and Lil' Keke, who proves to be the album's obvious ...

Game Don't Love You
$10.85 Lyrical acrobat Slim Shady returns after a five-year absence with his fifth major label release, continuing to strike the perfect balance between brooding insight and absolute silliness on 2009's RELAPSE. Opening single "Crack a Bottle" reunites Detroit's maddest rapper with his superstar mentor (Dr. Dre) and protege (50 Cent) on a fittingly funky tour de force.
Eminem's RELAPSE, a double album released after five years of recorded silence, a ...
| | Plan B Chlorine Dreams CD (2004)
Game Don't Love You
$13.89 Plan B Plan B's road to the present is rooted over ten years deep in the past. While attending high school in Cary, NC, Rivera and Jensen met for the first time. A bond was instantly formed through a shared love of music that included a diverse blend of influences. The two began almost immediately to experiment with different instruments as well as writing extensively in notebooks and journals. Shortly thereafter, their first project Swamp Gas Charlie was formed and in a couple of months was selling out shows in the Triangle. This four-piece band went on to record a full-length album entitled "Loophole Rhymin'" and finished another set of recordings, "March of the Dragon Sessions", in Raleigh, NC just before the untimely demise of the group. The break-up was a crushing blow to Rivera and Jensen personally and creatively, leading to a four-year separation of the two artists. While in Greenville, NC, Rivera continued to pursue musical interests that included metal, hip-hop, folk, and rock & roll. It was not uncommon to see him performing a solo acoustic set one night, playing heavy guitar another, or providing the backbone to numerous bands on his first love, the drums. Already very busy, he still found time to write poetry, lyrics, and rhymes, some of which can be found in Plan B's earliest material. Versatile does not even begin to describe Rivera's musical abilities. He is a talented drummer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and lyricist. Only two short hours away in Chapel Hill, Jensen was advancing his musical knowledge while attending the University of North Carolina. On top of academic courses, he obtained a more formal background of music by studying theory and history for two years and taking voice lessons. During this time, Jensen spent a lot of time writing lyrics and recording solo projects as well as playing guitar in various groups. Although they were in separate towns, Rivera and Jensen kept in contact with one another, making plans to reunite and continue the pursuit of their dream to make music together. That reunion occurred in June of 2001 when Jensen moved from Chapel Hill to Greenville...Plan B was born. It took only a short while for the creative energy to blend once again. Plan B began working on material over a seven-month period that comprised their first recording, "The ...
| | Steampacket Homecoming CD (2004)
Game Don't Love You
$18.99 Steampacket delivers Traditional Irish and European tunes mixed with self-penned tunes in the idiom of the Irish tradition.Geoff Wallis, author of the "Rough Guide to Irish Music" wrote:"The fivesome are just about identifiable in the rather blurred picture which appears on the liner cover opposite and are, left to right, the bodhrĂĄn player Rolf Wagels, flute player Claus Steinort, fiddlers Stephan Schneider and Tina Fastje and, lastly, guitarist and bass player Andreas Lassak. The group has apparently been around since 1999 and this is its debut album, although it was recorded as long as the period from November 2001 to March 2002.Rolf is a regular at the Frankie Kennedy Winter School and often in Donegal at other times too while, as Tola Custy recounts in his liner notes, Claus spent some time in County Clare. Perusing the tune notes, however, reveals a very broad range of sources for the tunes which appear on Homecoming, from the Shetland-based band Fiddlers' Bid, via the Mancunian piper David Lim and a set of Finnish polkas, to Josephine Keegan and Garry Shannon, plus a bevy of tunes composed by German musicians, including a rather fetching 5/4 time Anna's Song, composed by Stephan."Comparisons are odious", John Donne noted, though Shakespeare had it as "odorous" in Much Ado About Nothing. So, it might seem a little unfair to begin discussing Steampacket's affinity to LĂșnasa, but necessary, if only to forget about the idea rapidly after doing so. That there is such a connection is largely the product ...
