Purchase Grandes Del Tango CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Lhasa CD (2009)
Grandes Del Tango album
$13.65 Lhasa's earlier work included arrangements that drew on ranchera and Gypsy music, as well as American, Canadian, and Mexican folk, French chanson, and pop. The international flavor is more subtle on LHASA, without vanishing entirely. The songs on the album all deal with love, usually of the obsessive, hopeless, and doomed variety, and even at her most seductive, as on the subtle rock/tango "The Lonely Spider," Lhasa's vocals hint at grief and despair. The song's Latin standup bassline and subtle chiming guitar ...
| | Bebo & Cigala Lagrimas Negras CD (2004)
Grandes Del Tango CD music
$8.49 Lágrimas Negras (Black Tears) is a collaborative effort between the octogenarian Cuban piano master Bebo Valdés and the reigning Spanish flamenco cantador, Dieguito El Cigala. Recorded for Fernando Trueba and Nat Chediak's Calle 54 label, the sessions took place in Madrid between September and December 2002. Maestro Valdés (born in 1918), the father of the jazz pianist Chucho, has a long history as an innovator in Cuban music. He recorded the first Afro-Cuban jazz session in 1952, and was a tutor to the great bandleader Beny Moré, writing early charts for him. Valdés is also a world-class arranger. Dieguito El Cigala was born in 1960, and has become the undisputed ...

| | Meetu Chilana I Am. CD (2007)
Grandes Del Tango music CDs
$10.15 “I am.” is Meetu Chilana's debut cd comprised of six all original tracks using English, Hindi and Punjabi in an eclectic mix of songs. “I have always made it a point to be vocally versatile,” Chilana said. “I’m excited that it has all come together in this album.”The title track, “I Am,” is a commentary on the culture and obsession of labeling everyone, be it class, race or religion. In the chorus of the title track, Chilana uses her soulful voice to articulate the need for acceptance of individuality; “I don't need you to glorify me. I refuse to justify me. I believe I'm who I'm meant to be. I am who I am.” Coincidently the name of the track is also somewhat of an acronym for “Indian American"- a definitive description of who SHE IS. ...
| | Santana Blues For Salvador CD (1987)
Grandes Del Tango songs
$5.95 BLUES FOR SALVADOR, while not generally hailed among Santana's classics, happens to contain some of Carlos Santana's most riveting guitar playing of the '80s. "'Trane" is a fast-driving rock tribute to the late jazz giant John Coltrane. The unstoppable hands and feet at the drum kit belong to none other than Tony Williams, who pushes the brief guitar jam to the brink of explosion. Also offered is ...
| | Molnar, Brian & The Naked Hearts Temperance & The Devil CD (2009)
Grandes Del Tango album
$9.85 In "Temperance & The Devil," Brian Molnar & The Naked Hearts tap sonic traditions of the Americana genre that have been around almost as long as temperance has been a movement to dry up the nation and the devil has been a hooved fiend looking to steal men's souls. While the sound of this album alone is enough to make it a record in the best tradition of alternative country and folk music, to stop there would be to miss the hidden layers of Molnar's craft, just as stopping with this understanding of the title would shortchange his intent. The tarot reader knows the deeper meaning attached to the Temperance and Devil cards (the fourteenth and fifteenth Trump cards of the tarot deck): Temperance is a balancing of the forces of life and the Devil a representation of the life-energy inside of us-evil only through our own misunderstanding and misuse of it. Booze and hell-fire aren't the tarot reader's ...
