Nico’s electro futuristic sound has traveled across radio stations WNUR 89.3 FM, WLUW 88.7 FM, WZBC 90.3 FM Newton/Boston, WZLY 91.5 FM, 93.1 FM, and WMBR 88.1 FM in Cambridge where Nico DJ'D. Nico always had a fascination with Chicago house music, and let it known through his collection of the Trax Records Chicago label. Nico coined the genre Chip Wave, fusing new wave, Chicago house, italo disco, and 8 bit sound of the Commodore 64 computer. Early tapes written in assembly language were combined with the SID’s 64 kilobytes of RAM and sounds of the VIC-20. The breakup of groups from the 1990's, including Nico Flash, Future Gazers, Boys Club, and the "Material Boy" and "Who's That Guy" remix were inspired by Madonna's "Material Girl," and "Who's That Girl" hit songs. The band recently disbanded the band State of The Art. Nico coined Computer Disco and the ushering forth the Hi-Nrg style in Chicago. Following in the footsteps of Giorgio Morooder with his Amiga 500 and Commodore 64 music workstations, and the steady imports of italo disco records coming from Rome, Naples, Milan, Nico found his fantasy.
