MEGA 023 / JUMP 077If you have been a fan of ska music since the 1990's, you should have heard of Deal's Gone Bad a few times at least. Hailing from Chicago, they have been one of the bands that didn't succumb to ever popular "ska-punk" formula of music making during media take over in the late 90's. This band continued to play in the vein of the early ska and reggae bands from Jamaica, but not in the traditional ska style that many other bands adapted as well. Deal's Gone Bad kept it real with out punking it out or speeding it up too much. After 3 full length releases and countless compilation appearances, Deal's Gone Bad have just finished up recording their first record in over 6 years! With some line up changes, including a new singer (which is a tough bit to pull off), Deal's Gone Bad have pulled through and are about to hit audiences with this great solid new album. Fans of the old won't be disappointed and new fans will be wishing they had been listening from the beginning! This release is a joint effort between JumpUp! Records and Megalith Records. Look for a limited edition Picture Disc LP version to come in April as well. You can check out a new tune on our latest Megalith European sampler as well as downloading the bands first 3 full length efforts through your favorite download source, including iTunes. Ramblers CD music
$13.39 Pink Martini follow the around-the-world-in-a-dozen-songs thrills of HEY EUGENE! with SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, a mellower, simpler set of small pleasures. These are relative terms, however; the group's music is still well-traveled, with China Forbes singing in five languages (English, Spanish, Neapolitan, French, and Italian) instead of the six or so on EUGENE!. However, ...
| | Mara Tease EP CD (2004)
Ramblers music CDs
$10.15 Passionate acoustic rock that takes you on a journey to everywhere you've been or hope to go is how one fan describes Mara's music. This award winning singer/songwriter rocks audiences with high-energy live shows that showcase her natural talents as a powerful vocalist and entertainer. Her latest EP, Tease was produced in Los Angeles by Chris Fudurich (Britney Spears, Sophie B. Hawkins, Susanna Hoffs, etc.) and features Andy Georges (Jewel, Sheryl Crow) on guitar and a guest vocal from Adam Kowalczyk (Live). A three-time recipient of the ASCAPLU$ (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) award, recognizing her as an active and promising young songwriter, Mara has earned accolades from much of the music industry - including the prestigious Billboard and John Lennon Songwriting Contests. | | Rock City Morgue Dead Man's Song CD (2005)
Ramblers songs
$18.99 Taking into account the metallic-industrial-psychedelic-stoner-horror-schlock recordings in former White Zombie bassist Sean Yseult's past, 2005's Dead Man's Song is probably not what you'd expect from her new project, Rock City Morgue. Co-produced by punk rock legend Daniel Rey (Ramones, Blondie, Richard Hell, etc.) and former Zombie colleague J. Yuenger, it does, however, contain the sort of relaxed, chance-taking looseness you might expect from a band spearheaded by two weathered rock & roll veterans, and its that casual vibe that permeates the recordings themselves. "Disconnected," ...
| | Leslie Bowe Gypsy CD (2006)
Ramblers album
$10.15 CHICAGO, IL — As he releases his third album, Gypsy, this fall, Leslie Bowe will have already established audiences in Chicago and Pittsburgh. But this singer and songwriter, who is known for connecting with his fans to help them overcome personal challenges, believes in the universal appeal of his music. “I’m certain my singing and songwriting is an instrument,” he says, “my voice to the world. It’s what I’m supposed to be doing.” Apparently his listeners agree, often approaching him after concerts to share how his music and lyrics helped them through a difficult time in their life. Bowe began singing and performing as a child, joining an acappella gospel and Sixties group formed by his father and uncles. It wasn’t until college and an elective in piano, however, when he really began to explore songwriting. The difference ...

| | Bergman, Bill & The Metro Jets Universe Soul CD (2007)
Ramblers album
$21.49 With the release of his new collection Universe Soul, famed L.A. session man Bill Bergman and The Metro Jets, a group comprised of some of the West Coast’s hottest pop, soul and jazz musicians, are soaring once again with a hip, groove-intensive and ultra-sexy mix of in your face R&B, high spirited melodic jazz, simmering romance and a few explosive touches of gospel/blues. As a founding member of the popular soul band Jack Mack & The Heart Attack, and known for his legendary solo on Glenn Frey’s "You Belong To The City”, the Kansas City-bred saxman became a fixture in the Quiet Storm/Contemporary jazz format with both Midnight Sax (which Jazziz Magazine later named one of the ten most influential smooth jazz albums of all time) and its popular follow-up: Bill Bergman and The Metro Jets. Long a master at creating fascinating emotional mood swings in his music, Bergman infuses Universe Soul with a funky and high energy bang. Over the course of its 11 immediately infectious, in the pocket tracks, Universe Soul gives Bergman a chance to strut his stuff on tenor and soprano sax as well as flute, in addition to showcasing his versatility as a songwriter, arranger and producer. “The coolest and most challenging part of my career is being able to work with so many fascinating people and writing and performing music in so many genres,” Bergman says. “Taking a cue from his friend and mentor Grover, I’ve developed my own unique voice, and with Universe Soul I am eager to have people hear it in a contemporary jazz context again. Ultimately, what we as musicians strive for is making emotional connections with listeners. There’s something very special happening when it’s your band, your tune, your gig, your crowd and you’re getting people moving and grooving. For me, creating memorable melodies is the most important thing. I want to make music that lifts people and allows them to come away with something unforgettable.”--Jonathon WidranJazziz MagazineBill's ...
