Digitally remastered by George Horn (1995, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip. ...

The Hardest Part album
$10.15 How I got into music: Originally, i'm from West Philadelphia, my father was heavily into classical music, as far as i can remember. My parents bought a piano when i was about 7 years old. I knew at that age they wanted me to learn how to play it and show me the joy of music. I took piano lessons for 7 years and i have to say i was a bad student. I didn't practice the songs i was supposed to learn that week. I would come up with excuses, i look back on it now and think to myself, why wasn't i motivated to practice during the week. I suppose it was because i was shy, dont know why but i was. I decided to quit playing the piano when i was 13 and then didn't intend to do anything with music at all. Music was something that i was exposed to all of my life through my father, but didn't find any real connection to it at the time. My family moved to Haverford, and over the course of time i befriended a guy named Greg. He was really into the music of the time. Nirvana, Green Day, Offspring. He would make me copies of the cds to listen to. I didn't really like any of it at first. It was soo different from the music i grew up with. But i remember there was one song, that grabbed me, "Basket Case," by Green Day. There was something about it. I couldn't stop listening to it. If you listened to the tape now, you would hear that the quality of that song was significantly worse than the rest of the songs cause of the wear on the tape itself. Eventually, the tape was such bad quality that i went out and bought the CD. I remember asking my dad if I could use his cd player to listen to it. I cranked it up. I knew it was something. My friend Greg and I began talking about music, Greg more into the lifestyle and glamour of it all. I was never into all of that. Finding out about the artists and so on, but yea I must say I had my fair share of bands who I really liked. Greg bought a guitar. So for Christmas I asked for a guitar too. My wish came true. That day I learned how to play a "power chord" and the next day I learned how to play Basket Case. From then Greg and I formed a band, and my friends from high school wanted in. So my friend decided to buy a bass and join the group and another friend Ryan decided to play drums. To sum up, I was the songwriter and we formed a band called "Shameless Anxiety" which was a hard rock band. We released an album called "The Will To Power." Selling a couple hundred copies. Unfortunately, the band broke up after high school and we all went our separate ways. ...
