High Calling is a Christian music ministry based out of the Upstate of South Carolina. Our group is comprised of seven members, who are all born again Christians as well as active members in our home churches. Our original songs and lyrics cover a broad range of musical styles including southern gospel, contemporary gospel, country, bluegrass, rock and r&b. From the message of the songs to the notes we sing and play, it has been God's work and His blessings that have allowed us the privilege and opportunity of relaying His message. Our focus and desire as a ministry, as well as individuals, is to serve Jesus Christ through our God-given abilities and talents. Southside of Sorrow is a modern-vintage record of roots music. Released in the summer of 2004, Sasser has gained plenty of mileage from his debut CD. In March of 2005, “That Kinda Day” was chosen as music for a regionally broadcast television commercial for Henry Weinhard’s Beer. Also, that song was included on Failing Records Compilation of Portland: Volume 1 in 2005. “Lost and Found” was chosen for use in the soundtrack for Liquid Insanity, a nationally released kayak movie/doc, in 2006. Others are in consistent rotation on internet radio as far away as Belgium and The Netherlands. Currently, James is hard at work on his second release and playing shows, as always. He believes in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He believes that the Tanakh (Old Covenant) is the infallible Word of God. Since that is the case, it would mean believing in the accurately prophesied Messiah mentioned in the Tanakh. That Messiah would be Yeshua, or as many people around the world have come to know Him as, Jesus. To top it off, Aviad believes in the New Covenant God made with His people, as prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31 in the Tanakh (Old Covenant). Some call it the New Testament, but Aviad knows how to say New Covenant in Hebrew: Brit Chadasha. After all, that’s what you call it when you’re a True Jew. Now you know how to say it too.Aviad was born in Tel Aviv, Israel on March 11, 1975, corresponding to the Jewish calendar date of Adar 28, 5735. Two years later, the Cohen family moved to Brooklyn, NY. Aviad grew up in the Yeshiva and Jewish private school systems of New York and New Jersey and later attended public high school and graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Hofstra University. During those years after school, while working in the entertainment industry in New York and Los Angeles, Aviad began to refine his talents and skills. TV, Germany’s ARTE, and other national and international television programs.In 2004, Aviad came to know Yeshua, the True Jew Messiah. “When I was 50 Shekel, I was a lost and wandering Jew. I was desperately seeking my Creator. Religion kept me in bondage. I wanted God instead. I cried out to Him and he heard my call. Like Domino’s Pizza: He delivers!
