| | Lee Sheehan Detroit Steel CD Lee Sheehan Discography of CDs
Lee Sheehan has been carving out an impressive career as a singer/ songwriter. His distinguished debut album “Detroit Steel” has helped to establish him as a sought after performer and composer. Passionate music that perfectly blends compellingly expressive lyrics with exciting melodic lines, delivering that certain heart tugging emotional consciousness from deep within. From “Dad’s Song” haunting steel guitar work that seems to linger forever, ringing out around the words “..it’s not how long you live but how you do..” to “My Wish For You,” a vividly striking tune of love for a precious young son. Music that is not only heard, but felt as well. The following bio is taken from Lee’s official web site www.leesheehan.com. “...Lee Sheehan singer, songwriter and guitarist grew up in Pennsylvania and Ohio, were he absorbed a huge variety of great music. Taking after his father he began playing guitar at an early age, polishing his craft from that point on. As for his taste in music he likes country, bluegrass, rock, folk, R&B and contemporary jazz. Some of his favorite-recording artists are Jim Croce, James Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Jeff Healey and The Eagles. Being self-taught and playing guitar by ear, Lee developed a smooth finger picking style along with some real nice flat picking techniques. His debut album “Detroit Steel" says a lot about Lee’s passion for love, life, fast cars and sweet bikes. Having loved a wonderful lady for over thirty years, working for as many years in the auto industry, he delights in taking long cruises on his (union made) American motorcycle. His mystical way with words and innumerable life experiences has given rise to a song-writing style that never fails to combine meaningful lyrics with extraordinary heartfelt melodies. Now as a successful solo recording artist, Lee looks forward to having fun times with his live audiences. Of course he will be writing and recording new songs. Watch for Lee’s up and coming albums, we’ll keep you posted...” Please scroll down this page and read what reviewers are saying about Lee’s cd, then click into sound clips, enjoy two-minute clips of each song. $13.05 Generally, it's a good idea to be wary of actors who make pop albums, but every rule has at least one exception, and She and Him's VOLUME ONE is an unfettered delight. A collaboration between actress Zooey Deschanel (ALMOST FAMOUS, ELF) and prolific indie-folk musician M. Ward, She and Him is not merely a case of a cult musician using a more famous name as an entrée into the musical mainstream: in fact, Deschanel is the primary songwriter here and sings all the lead vocals barring a pair of duets, and she scores impressively on both fronts.
Deschanel turns out to be a gifted pop songwriter with a knack for penning crisp 1960s-style pop songs like the glorious first single, "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?" and singing them in a flirty, country-inflected style that recalls the likes of Jackie DeShannon and early Linda Ronstadt. Ward and an all-star band of fellow Portland, Oregon, indie-ites, ...
