Welcome to my world. I've traveled the world and meet a lot of different people before I was 18. The cultures and music have kind of stuck with me. From the soft melodes to the hard drums of Japan. To the hard driving Party Polkas of Germany. My music is not main stream and I have a very select following. So if your in the mind to want a music to kick back and get into. Stop a minute and listen to what I have to offer. LATER/ This is a review that Gerald Van Waes wrote about "ALONE". He has a local radio program in Antwerpen, Belgium 106.7 FM : SA/2 : 20-22 PM. "Sometimes it is good to lay aside an album for a while when something intrudes and prevents the reviewing of it immediately. Now when I finally am able to sit down and relax, all the elements of the album started to comfort me, and I also began to understand the concept well. The songs are played in a certain simple and direct confronting way, and thereâs no way around them. With a lo-fi nature and some distortion, this distortion goes beyond the form, and expresses a former disturbed life but with an ability to sit down and resume and admit all the mistakes that have been made, in relations (âaloneâ), an awareness of his parents efforts to make the best for their son (âmy boyâ), realisations how inner desires always tend to search for more and more, and to be of an inadequate nature. It really needs courage to realize everything, to stop the continuations of inevitable facts. But it sometimes is impossible for others to understand when someone is ready to start all over, so this sometimes canât happen on the same spot, so another courage forces a person sometimes to move elsewhere and to search for what might be something better, where to start all over. This is to some degree still very possible to combine within the idea of the more commonly understood âAmerican dreamâ, which in its core actually does not restrict this, but even promotes such idealism (âOn my wayâ). Steven also looks back on his contribution to the Vietnam War, and does still not feel the human sense in it. Sometimes the slightly distorted recording is a bit painful, but so also are these thoughts, and this might not be the time yet to clean the mess of thoughts completely up, because all things need to be said first. What is left with them, is this feeling of loneliness, of being left alone with it. The new road is marked, and someone seems to be forced also to take this step at first, alone, at least as a decision. All small instrumentals, of guitar with keyboards are like the realisations of the nature of this new open road. These specific tracks lean towards neofolk/dark wave, without being so. A great song is âPuppet Showâ about realizing how life first seems automatically to be lived by its own momentom, as if someone pulls the strings of the puppets which we are. Very good in this context is also the previous song, âWe are the onesâ, which realizes how much we ourselves could make also more responsible and conscious choices. About this âPuppet Showâ track, I prefer to say more. For me it immediately stood out as the most powerful song, with a baritone-like singing, slowly moving, with a slowly moving bass in the voice, that reminded me more of groups like Sisters Of Mercy or even better, like Joy Division, with powerful and convincing dark chords. It is as if here the warrior had put down his sword, and makes this time his words like the sword, a powerful expression. The last instrumental concludes well with guitar and electronica, slightly neo-folk electro styled." //Webmaster / radioshow producer Gerald Van Waes,Radioshow "Psyche Van Het Folk",Antwerpen, Belgium,A product from www.radiocentraal.be/psychevanhetfolk Alone Music | Category | Folk Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7445284 | | Catalog number | 128941 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Apr 03, 2007 |

Alone CD music
$9.85 LISTEN UP, DOWN AND IN THE EIGHT DIRECTIONS Daoboy Bob is always in a state of bemusing and bemoaning, musically and elsewise. The stretch of his fascia between who he is, was and will be provides the transformational energy heard in the roots and bark of his songs. Like echoes that fall to the floor of Palo Duro Canyon, or reverberate in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas, yea the foot hills of Tibet, and the steps of Nine Dragons River in Sichuan, Daoboy Bob was there and only left his blues behind. He showed up at the Texas Stars and Guitars Festival last spring and left with good friends and a certificate of musical honors. He has played in several incarnations and some say he is a borderline immortal of some kind. Claims abound in quiet circles that he was born several hundred years B.C., and Q. R. S. T. as wellâso much is arbitrary and guess work in a truly fuzzy universe. Daoboy counts on the songs and creative process to renew his Body/Mind/Spirit and extend his journey, though he is now cursed to live in interesting times. I think he avoids the confines of Industry, best he can, so his CD is as Indy as it gets. He has a number of projects in intention, and in the meanwhile âGoinâ Nowhere Slowâ represents what he calls âfishinâ without baitâ. I personally know however that he has a hunger for good whole food so please support his effort to get to the next recording opportunity. In harmony with the âGoinâ Nowhere Slowâ principle, Daoboy Bob is resisting the tug to hurry and âget on with itâ, even though he feels that âtime is acceleratingâ----so, all good things in their own time, but buy his CD now anyway. Sorry Daoboy, I know youâre not that driven by the culture of marketing so somebody has to encourage the listening public ...
| | Laufman, Dudley & Jacqueline Where'D You Get Them Great Chunes CD (2007)
Alone music CDs
$11.39 Dudley and Jacqueline Laufman play jigs, reels and hornpipes while calling traditional New England dances. They were honored to have been selected to present these dances during the two week Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC in 1999. Two years later Dudley was distinguished with the New Hampshire Governor's Arts Award in Folk Heritage for lifetime achievement and excellence. He has been nominated for the National Folk Heritage Fellowship of the National Endowment for the Arts. They have toured throughout the United States and performed in Canada, England and Wales. Dudley, who also performed in Greece and Turkey, has published books of poetry, dances and musicians, and numerous documentaries recordings. He plays accordion, concertina, harmonica, is a Yankee storyteller, and has been at all of this for over 56 years. Both Dudley and Jacqueline are self-taught having learned by the oral tradition. They fiddle while calling and clogging their feet at the same time. Jacqueline apprenticed to Dudley in 1986 and continues to pass on this way of learning to her own fiddle students. While earning their living as Two Fiddles, they also play in the Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra of which Dudley is the leader. Tunes from several of the LP albums have been re-released on a CD. They have authored two educational books with CDs: White Mountain Reel and Sweets of May, especially suited for music, physed and classroom teachers and recreation leaders. Easy to use, one track has the dance calls and the next tract has only the music so leaders can do their own calls using the directions in the book. White Mountain Reel Companions, arrangements by Janet Farrar-Royce, is a set of three texts of the dance tunes for violin, viola and cello. Also playing ...
