Kind Van God album
$12.95 Getting right back to where they started from, Creed reunites for Full Circle, putting all tensions to rest and cutting their first album in eight years. FULL CIRCLE is a none-too-subtle allusion to how they're getting back to their beginnings, but a cynic could say they never got much past it, toiling the same weathered ground on each of their albums, but this bears some subtle differences, particularly in how Creed sounds heavier yet more open than they did in the past. While they're still delivered with the finesse of a hammer on a railroad spike, there's more air within the ballads, more skill ...
| | Amy Grant Christmas Album CD (1983)
Kind Van God CD music
$10.95 At the age of 22, Amy Grant took another step in her career by issuing her first Christmas album in 1983. It was a logical-enough release for a Christian performer, but also one that suggested she was an established headliner, an artist whose versions of standards like "The Christmas Song" and "Little Town" (aka "O Little Town of Bethlehem") would be interesting to listeners because she was singing them. In her carefully planned march to mass popularity, the album represented at least one tentative outreach in a musical direction Grant would not pursue. The leadoff track, "Tennessee Christmas," found her husband and co-writer, Gary Chapman, playing a pedal steel guitar on a song that seemed intended to probe the country market and that actually earned some country radio play. But despite being a scion of the Nashville aristocracy (i.e., the wealthy families that long predated the rise of country music in the city), Grant was never really a country artist, and the rest of the album, cut at James William Guercio's ...

| | Ralph Stanley, II Carrying On CD (2004)
Kind Van God music CDs
$14.05 CARRYING ON is the fourth album by Ralph Stanley II, son of bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley. Though he adds a dash of contemporary country flavor and the gloss of modern production, Stanley II's main objective is--as the album's title suggests--to carry on the mountain roots music his father helped pioneer in the Stanley Brothers. Stanley II's dedication to bearing the family torch is clear by his choice of songs here, which includes the Stanley Brothers' "Map of God's Highway" and the Carter Family's "Single Girl."
From Stanley II's own tunes--"You Will Never Be Mine" and "I Am the Way I Am," among them--it is clear his skill as a songwriter matches his talents as a guitarist and vocalist. A crack team of musicians flesh out the down-home sound here, with notable work by mandolin player John Rigsby, fiddler Tim Crouch, and banjo player Steve Sparkman. Of course, the elder Ralph Stanley makes an appearance--his inimitable high-lonesome voice graces "Mountain Dew" and "Devil's Little Angel," adding a seal of approval. CARRYING ON may ...
| | Marvin Sapp Thirsty CD (2007)
Kind Van God songs
$11.29 On Marvin Sapp's chart-busting 2007 release, there's no questioning his sincerity. On tracks like "Place Of Worship," "Praise Him In Advance," and the title song; the popular preacher and gospel singer emotes when he sings, as if his heart is aflame with an unquenchable spiritual fire. The key to his success seems to be flexibility, with vocal chops that are equally adept at string-laden ballads (he's joined on some songs by a full orchestra) and funky R&B workouts.
Recording information: Nomad Studios, Carrollton, TX (01/26/2007); ...

| | Churchyard Grass In His Arms CD (2007)
Kind Van God songs
$15.19 We are a collective group of musicians who have a love for bluegrass music and a desire to minister to people. However, this only begins to describe Churchyard Grass. The group formed in 1994 at Fort Lee Baptist Church located in Richmond, Virginia. One of our most common bonds is a love and desire to play bluegrass music. Our greatest joy is to know that we have ministered to someone through Gospel Bluegrass. We come individually, bringing an array of talents, but it is when we come together as a group that the magic begins. We love to have fun, and we love the Lord. We would love the opportunity to share with you. How can we help?------------------Another year has gone by and we reflect on the blessings that God provided us in 2006. We were afforded many opportunities to share His word through our music and hope that we have planted some seeds and made a difference in someone's life. Thank you to all of our fans for their continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the upcoming year.As many of you know, our mandolin player, Doug Cherrington, is no longer a permanent member of CYG. Since Doug has encountered some health problems which currently have hindered his ability to play concerts on a regular basis, he has decided to support the group as an "on call" musician. We were fortunate to have had Doug share his talents with us for four years and would like to thank him for his tremendous contribution to the group. Doug continues to give music lessons for guitar, banjo and mandolin at Harrison Music in Richmond, Virginia. We are beginning 2007 with great anticipation of reuniting with old friends and making new friends, as well. Our 2007 schedule kicks off with a night at Riverview Nursing Home in Hopewell, Virginia, on Thursday, January 4th. It is such a joy to visit with these folks. The following week on Sunday, January 14th, we're ...
