20 Exitos music CDs
$13.15 QUE VAYA BIEN - Roy Brown, Tito Auger & Tao Rodriguez-Seeger Roy Brownâs music was formed in the social movements of the â70s. Roy has since come to embody his countryâs soulful independence of spirit. His widely beloved songs draw on Puerto Ricoâs rich poetry and folklore. They speak to universal longings for social justice, a healthy environment, an end to war, and respect for one another. Tito Auger fronts Puerto Ricoâs legendary rock band Fiel a la Vega. His electrifying performances combine the roots rock influence he picked up in New Jersey with a joyous, powerful Puerto Rican foundation. As a soloist, his songs are deeply poetic and compelling. Tao RodrĂguez-Seeger, raised in Nicaragua, is usually on the road with The Mammals - a rocking folk ensemble that delights audiences across the USA and beyond. Tao also accompanies his grandpa Pete on banjo, guitar & vocals around the world. Roy, Tito & Tao met up for a show in New Haven CT about a year ago and found they had a world in common â love of traditional folk music from Latin America and the US and similar feelings about the role of music in the world today. They immediately hit it off as musicians and friends. âQue Vaya Bien,â the CD, came together at Royâs studio in Mayaguez Puerto Rico over the summer and was released in Puerto Rico in November. Many of the islandâs finest musicians back the trio, together with Andrew Reissiger of Dromedary on the charango. âQue Vaya Bienâ draws from Puerto Rican roots, contemporary ballads, Pete Seegerâs legacy, Garcia-Lorcaâs Spain, the indigenous people of Guatemala, gospel, and rollicking anti-authoritarian Appalachian tradition. âQue Vaya Bienâ is a rich combination of influences seamlessly combining in delightful music that refreshes the soul, lifts the spirits, and inspires. âQue Vaya Bienâ with Roy Brown, Tito Auger and Tao RodrĂguez-Seeger (on banjo and harmonica) has already captured the publicâs affection with the hilarious âEl Banquete de los SĂĄnchez,â a spoof of our holiday feasts â and the supposed media blackout it briefly endured. But âQue Vaya Bienâ is a lot more than âEl BanqueteâŠâ Latin American nueva canciĂłn, traditional country, la bomba, and the blues stretch out on this recording with exceptional musicality and timely themes. âQue Vaya Bien,â (Well May the World Go), âCosecha los que siembresâ (Reap What You Sow), and âCanciĂłn paâ Cieba,â are just a few of the other works on this five star offering, which we will ...

20 Exitos music CDs
$11.39 Listen to "Victim" and "Relativity," the first two singles off the upcoming YesMisterBloodVessel album Racing the Relapse, and it's an all too familiar and relatable story of how difficult it is to let go after a betrayal. In late 2004, YesMisterBloodVessel was conceived from a moment of clarity amidst a deep miasma for singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Christian Peppas. After a stint with New York Brit-Punk band The Rakehells, Peppas realized that he wanted to take his music in a different, more personal direction. It's clear where many of his musical influences lieâa blend of Nine Inch Nails industrial rock and the more upbeat sounds of The Beatlesâbut the real inspiration is borne from his perpetual analysis of personalities, incidents and, most of all, himself.Racing the Relapse is what ultimately rose from this idea. Calling on the abilities of talented producer Spivack (The Barrens, Lantis!) and a repertoire of skilled musicians including bassist John Ferrara (Consider the Source), pro guitarist Phil Christiansen, and drummers Chris Gersbeck (The Barrens) and Adam Christgau (Greg Mayo), it tells the story of how easy it is to fall into shadow when things go wrong, and stay there. But that's very much at the core of YesMisterBloodVessel's music. It's about indulging that darknessâletting yourself sink to the deepest recesses ...
