$6.09 Out of a seemingly endless array of hip hop albums, every now and again something fresh and powerful rises to the top of the pile. Hailing from the Queensbridge Housing Projects in Long Island City (home to Marley Marl among others), 20-year old Nasir "Nas" Jones is less concerned with being an impersonator than with being an originator, bypassing adolescent fantasies and B-boy braggadocio in favor of jazzy beats, rap ...

Collections music CDs
$10.15 a review by Toxic PeteRefreshingly, and unlike so many others, Ichinchilla doesn't aim at the electro dance world with his digitally generated wares. Ichinchilla goes straight down the electro-pop route with his album 'Zulu Landing' - it's pop music pure and simple! Imagine Pet Shop Boys crossed with Kraftwerk and you'll get something approaching what Ichinchilla is all about. On the whole there's a cool, chilled vibe that's given off with 'Zulu a review by Jane sezwot is ichinchilla ?/ this album zulu landing is one of the cleverest dance / electro records i 've ever heard . kraftwerk meets pet shop boys in belgium. the beats are all there in the correct places. ive heard "record player" and "death punk electro" in the clubs so there are obviously folk other than me that 'get ' this stuff .this is a bit like an industry secret, its about time it was shared with everyone else tracks like "Brian Jones" are pure genious "you're vauxhaul , your viva you shake like some shiva " . The key to this album is not simply the elctro bubble that leads you through this thoroughly enjoyable album, but the lyrics . Yeah checking the lyrics out on a dance album !!! "Sheffield" is so early Human League i laughed when i heard it, all very big and very clever . "december" is a brilliant track could it be an electrolovesong ? i am not the hugest dance music fan but i certainly welcome more of this stuff especially as its coming out of the Uk not belgium , italy or germany . if all this sounds a bit confusin' try out the ludicrously packaged 'record player' single . whoever you are chinchilla dude make some more of this. ...... ...does it play 78 ???? a review by Mr H therocker.co.ukam more than happy to admit that 'Death Punk Electro' was one of my favourite dance singles of last year. But I'm not speaking as a natural born doof-doofer, rather an unreconstructed ...
