Archies album
$15.65 Recorded between 1965 and 1981. Includes liner notes by Dawn Eden.
With their flower-power-tinged pop masterpieces and heavenly vocal harmonies the Association was at the epicenter of the '60s California "sunshine pop" scene whose other luminaries included the Mamas & the Papas and the Beach Boys. Though the group's many hits make up a major part of the '60s musical legacy, the Association's only representation on CD in the US before the release of t
'60s folk and rock fans remember David Blue as perhaps the most authentic Dylan imitator in an era full of them, and certainly everything about this 1966 release, from the half-spoken, half-sung vocals, to the bluesy, keyboard-rich arrangements, to even the album cover shot of Blue sporting ...

| | Justin Bieber My World CD (2009) Enhanced CD
Archies music CDs
$8.04 Within a couple years, Canadian teenager Justin Bieber went from covering Usher on YouTube to working with Usher. An internet sensation from his renditions of several pop and pop-oriented R&B hits, he was still only 15 years old when he released this, his first album -- though it's more like an EP since it is contains only seven songs that are 25 minutes in duration. Given the comfort level he showed in the material he covered, My World plays it straight, based on the kind of age-appropriate content that would fill out a release from a younger Chris Brown or a junior version of Ne-Yo. Members of the Clutch, Midi Mafia, "Tricky" Stewart, Usher, and a handful ...
| | Rod Stewart Never A Dull Moment (Gold) CD (1972) Gold
Archies songs
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling up nicely next to these heartfelt interpretations are some of Stewart's finest original songs. Teaming with spiritual brother Ron Wood, Stewart offers up the cheeky "Italian Girls" and "True Blue," a track that goes along at a mid-tempo clip before exploding into a heartfelt rave-up.

| | Sting If On A Winter's Night... CDs (2009) Digipak
Archies album
$14.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. ...
| | Tom Waits Glitter And Doom Live CDs (2009) Digipak
Archies CD music
$13.84 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make them sound like a single show. The material leans, understandably, on his recordings with the Anti label. There are stellar performances here, such as "Get Behind the Mule" from The Mule Variations, "Trampled Rose" from Real Gone, and a haunting version of Leadbelly's "Fannin Street" from Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, to mention just three of the 17 cuts here. But he goes back to his Island albums too. For instance, there are completely re-visioned readings of "Lucky Day" and "I'll Shoot the Moon" from 1993's Black Rider, and a killer -- though equally revamped -- version of "Singapore" ...

| | Tina Micula CD (2003)
Archies songs
$6.69 On her debut self-titled CD, singer/songwriter Tina Micula delivers a heartfelt musical journey exploring life and love. Ninevolt magazine has compared Tina's vocal quality to Joni Mitchell and Jewel. Her lyrics are Dylanesque, not surprising since Bob Dylan is her favorite songwriter. "Music has always been important in my life. I remember singing songs listening to the radio when I was six or seven years old. I loved to sing. I got a guitar from my sister when I was about fifteen and started plunking out tunes. Other early musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Crosby, ...
