Electroplano is a novelty, an album that combines the deepest sounds of native argentine music with the electronic textures of chill out. Born in 1938 in Tucumán, Jaime Torres is the most important charango player in the world. He has been touring worldwide since 1967 and in1974 he participated in the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Germany. In 1988 he wrote the music for the film ‘Internal Debt,’ which examines the Argentine value system and was nominated for a best foreign film at the Oscars. | | Portishead Dummy CD (1994)
Electroplano CD music
$11.49 Named for a town near Bristol, England, Portishead is a British dance band that grabs ideas from all over the mod pop world (spaghetti Western guitars, turntable scratching, melancholy soul vocals, atmospheric organs, house beats) and stirs them into spacey, dub-like productions that sound like a dance club in the middle of a "Twin Peaks" dream. You could call it surreal hip-hop pop. But if the beats on the band's debut album achieve a kind of trance-like static, the songs themselves reach for something more rousing. With understated lyrics and overstated melodies, singer Beth Gibbons and bandleader Geoff Barrow write insinuatingly melancholy dance ballads that ebb and flow like waves through rustling waters. Organs quaver in quiet tremolos, guitars emit squiggles and turntables hiccup, while Gibbons, in a high, cutting voice that evokes a less breathy Sinead O'Connor, sings songs of longing and heartbreak with equally palpable emotion.

| | Karunesh Nirvana Cafe CD (2002)
Electroplano album
$13.45 Karunesh's second album is a pleasant mix of easy-listening pop and smooth jazz. If from that description you suspect this album of synthesizer ballads is laid-back, you'd be right, but there is enough melodic intrigue to keep things interesting. "Dazzled by the Light" is a smooth cha-cha featuring Real Music label-mate ...
| | Tangerine Dream Green Desert CD (1986)
Electroplano CD music
$12.49 Originally recorded in 1973, Green Desert did not see the light of day until it was remixed and released as part of the In the Beginning box set in 1986, then as its own album later the same year. It is difficult to ascertain how radical this release is from the original recording, but as it stands, it is a logical step between the rawer-produced Atem to the ambient/sequencer-driven style of Phaedra. A key element of this is attributable to Edgar Froese's guitar playing on the title track, an unhurried solo that lasts only about five minutes in the nearly 20-minute piece, yet is easily the most memorable part of the entire song. None of the three shorter songs are as dynamic as the first, each containing a keyboard melody played over synthesized noises and the rhythms ...
| | Soprano Summit Live In England CD (1976)
Electroplano music CDs
$12.09 The music on this 1998 CD was previously out on a British CD by the obscure J&M label. Soprano Summit tended to be at its hottest live in concert and, even though they were not using their usual rhythm section (having guest guitarist Dave Cliff, bassist Peter Ind and drummer Lennie Hastings for this British concert), the co-leaders (Kenny Davern and Bob Wilber on clarinets and sopranos) sound typically heated. Actually, there are more slower tunes than usual on this set (including a beautiful opening version of "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland" and a lengthy "Old Stock o' Lee Blues") but enough barn burners (such as "Ole Miss" and "Oh Sister, Ain't That Hot") to satisfy all Soprano Summit fans. Wilber and Davern always brought out the best in each other, making Soprano Summit (no matter what the rhythm section ...
| | Paul Gonsalves Tell It The Way It Is! CD (1963) (Import) Japan; 24 Bit Remastered; Mini LP Sleeve
Electroplano songs
$38.19 When Duke Ellington's sidemen recorded on their own, the Duke's influence often had a way of asserting itself even if he was nowhere near the studio. This was true in the 1930s and 1940s, and it was true on some of Paul Gonsalves' recordings of the 1960s. Nonetheless, Gonsalves was his own man, and this excellent CD points to the fact that the breathy tenor saxophonist wasn't afraid to enter a variety of musical situations. This reissue combines two excellent 1963 dates -- Cleopatra -- Feelin' Jazzy and Tell It the Way It Is -- on a single CD. Tell It the Way It Is unites Gonsalves with the great Swedish trumpeter Rolf Ericson and pianist Walter Bishop, Jr. as well as such Ellington alumni as Johnny Hodges (alto sax) and Ray Nance (cornet, violin). The strong Ellington influence asserts itself on pieces that range from Hodges' "Rapscallion in Rab's Canyon" to "Things Ain't What They Used to Be" and "Duke's Place." Meanwhile, Cleopatra -- Feelin' ...

Electroplano CD music
$32.85 In contrast to the experimental project, Fridge (with Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet), Adem literally found his voice for these subtle folk inflected and emotive songs. Homesongs was largely arranged for acoustic guitars, harmonium and double-bass, but it's also about the ringing of strings between notes, intakes of breath and old and odd "real" instruments. Just listen to the subtle flourishes as harmoniums wheeze into life as if borrowed from Ivor Cutler's Scottish Living Room, ...
| | David Hammond Warrior For The King CD (2009)
Electroplano music CDs
$15.95 Growing up in the Church, David Hammond is no stranger to the awesome and amazing power of prayer. He's also no stranger to the wonderful connection that music can make with the soul. And as David demonstrates through his wonderfully energetic, yet empathetic work, the combination of faithful prayer and music is force that cannot be denied.Over 25 years ago David Hammond began writing music; songs of prayer, praise and community. These songs were simply creations in and of themselves - just sheets of music he kept in his guitar case. Through over 2 decades of life, these songs, and their message, were placed into David's heart and care; waiting for the moment to be released. Now, 27 years later, David has found that time. As these songs went from acoustic sketches to fully-orchestrated works of worship, it is clear that David has been prayerfully patient in the making of this opus. As David describes the process of his new album, 'Warrior for the King':I thank God!for being patient with me to finish what He started so very long ago. I was 26 when these songs were first inspired and captured on paper...and 52 before 'God's timing was right' for this labor of love to come to completion. And what a completion it is! David's 'Warrior for The King' is a gripping, powerful and energetically hopeful series of worship and fellowship. Hammond's powerful voice is the centerpiece of a truly intricate musical work. And with his music, David Hammond certainly seems to be redefining the terms of 'Contemporary Christian Music. 'But ...
