| | Outkast Idlewild CD (2006) Parental Advisory
Mercury CD music
$8.99 Coming off the enormous success of their double album SPEARBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW, Outkast continue to prove themselves to be one of the most unusual acts in hip-hop with IDLEWILD, the album companion to the movie-musical of the same name. On this, their seventh full-length release, Andre 3000 and Big Boi break new ground, expanding their repertoire of musical experimentation by putting together 25 unconventional hip-hop tracks with twists of soul, gospel, and ragtime in line with the 1930s era represented in the film.
The more traditional playalistic Cadillac-centered rhymes that characterized the duo's debut album make a few appearances here on tracks like "Morris Brown," but overall Big Boi's gangsta lyricism takes a back seat on this one, with Andre's crossover-pop sound dominating with the tracks "Life Is Like A Musical," "Makes No Sense At All," and "When I Look Into Your Eyes." Unfortunately, the most rewarding songs that are able to combine the talents of each member, like "N2U" and "Peaches," are few and far between and perhaps an early indicator of Outkast's last gasps. Guest appearances from Snoop ...
| | Killa C Tainted Flesh CD (2005)
Mercury music CDs
$10.15 December 24th 1999, 'Killa C Tha Outcast' emerges and begins a movement. Over the span of the next year and a half, he releases three albums; Murderous Ways, Sides One, Two, & Three. On October 31st 2001 Killa C released Rivaz Ov Blood, which was available in several stores from Cincinnati to Detroit and Montana. Rivaz Ov Blood quickly gained Killa C notoriety for wickedness with a bold statement: He is, THE KING OF SICKNESS. Shorter than one year later, to follow up on what was spreading quickly, Killa C dropped MURDAEYEZ which not only furthered the message, but also informed the rest of the Undergound that if Killa C was going anywhere, it was only up. MURDAEYEZ earned Killa C the Tuney Award for 2002 Rap Artist Of The Year in Montana as presented by the Billings Outpost. MURDAEYEZ also donned the coming of the (now titled) Str8Dirty webstore which is where Killa C fans shop for the merchandise they so proudly represent. In 2003, Killa C entered the Phat or Whack contest on InsaneClownPosse with I KUT U, and was UNDOUBTABLY voted PHAT. In 2004, Killa C completed his newest project, one that which is truly a masterpiece and features Tech N9ne, Big Krizz Kaliko, Project: Deadman, R.O.C., and more. The album features production by Mike E. Clark, Tekneko Bros. Productions, and Robert Rebeck. The album also features a bonus DVD with three music videos, commentary and special footage from Tech N9ne, Big Krizz Kaliko, ...
| | Ali & Gipp Kinfolk CD (2006)
Mercury songs
$12.79 On their first full-length collaboration, 2006's KINFOLK, midwestern rapper Ali (St. Lunatics) teams up with Dirty South native Gipp (aka Big Gipp of Goodie Mob) for a fierce set of anthemic hip-hop. Delivering on the promise of their initial pairing (Nelly's "Grillz," featuring ...
| | Ugk Underground Kingz CDs (2007)
Mercury album
$9.75 Long before Houston rap came to define the sound of the Dirty South, UGK (the Underground Kingz), along with the Geto Boys, were holdin' it down strong for H-Town. While the duo of Bun B and Pimp C never achieved major cross-over success--spitting woozy gangsta tales a few too many years before mainstream radio was prepared for them--they gained a loyal fanbase and the respect of their fellow MCs (chief among them Jay-Z, who featured UGK on his classic track "Big Pimpin'").
After a brief separation marked by prison time for Pimp C and solo albums by both, UGK came back strong on UNDERGROUND KINGZ, a sprawling dripped-and-draped Dirty South block-rocker. A veritable who's-who from across the entire hip-hop spectrum pay their respects here, including Talib Kweli, Dizzee Rascal, Three 6 Mafia, T.I., and Big Daddy Kane. While glittery guest lists are a dime a dozen in hip-hop, ...

| | Patton Oswalt Werewolves And Lollipops CD (2007) With DVD
Mercury music CDs
$13.19 Patton Oswalt is one of the figureheads of the "alternative" standup scene of the early 2000s, but a star turn as the voice of Remy in the 2007 Pixar film RATATOUILLE introduced him to an entirely new and younger audience. For the kiddies, however, his 2007 comedy album WEREWOLVES AND LOLLIPOPS most certainly ain't. Oswalt lobs merciless, profanity-laden, venom-soaked barbs at everyone and everything from Paris Hilton and Jon ...
