| | Yung Berg Almost Famous (The Sexy Lady EP) CD Yung Berg Discography of CDs
Originally signed to DMX's Ruff Ryders label as a teenager, Yung Berg first made big noise with the rowdy club-banger, "Sexy Lady." On the strength of that single, Epic put together ALMOST FAMOUS: THE SEXY LADY EP (2007) as a teaser to the Chi-town rookie's highly anticipated LP. Berg keeps it bouncy alongside JFK and Tony Loco on the equally club-friendly cut, "Into It" and does his best to match Twista's breakneck rhyme style on "Where Do We Go." THE SEXY LADY EP also features appearances by Jim Jones, Junior, and Rich Boy.

| | Jaheim Ghetto Classics CD (2006) Parental Advisory
Almost Famous (The Sexy Lady EP) CD music
$15.65 GHETTO CLASSICS is Jaheim's third effort, an album heavily rooted in traditional R&B, and also one of his strongest. Don't be misled by the "traditional" tag, however. Like most contemporary R&B, Jaheim's music is deeply influenced by hip-hop, and the layered, top-tier production from ...
| | Hustle & Flow DVD (2005) Widescreen
Almost Famous (The Sexy Lady EP) music CDs
$8.55 A gritty fairy tale of dreams deferred, HUSTLE & FLOW infuses the torpor of the Memphis ghetto with electric tension. Terrence Howard delivers the performance of a lifetime as DJay, a pimp and drug dealer eking out an existence with his three whores, one of whom, Shug (Taraji P. Henson, HOLLA), is hugely pregnant. Nola (Taryn Manning, 8 MILE) turns tricks from the backseat of DJay's beater, while Lexus (Paula Jai Parker, LOVE CHRONICLES), the hustler's high-maintenance girlfriend, strips in a cellar-like club. DJay's dissatisfaction is increasing as he senses that life has nothing more in store for him, but a chance encounter with an old school friend, Key (Anthony Anderson, KING'S RANSOM), reignites his musical aspirations. Key is a small-time recording artist, and DJay, armed with a notebook full of lyrics, pays him a visit at home, much to the displeasure of Key's prim and proper wife (Elise Neal, PLAYA'S BALL). Initially dubious, Key agrees to partner with DJay after hearing his stuff, and the two build a makeshift recording studio in DJay's back room, enlisting ...

| | Melanie Fiona Bridge CD (2009)
Almost Famous (The Sexy Lady EP) album
$9.99 Melanie Fiona's debut single, "Give It to Me Right," was a perfect 2009 pop-R&B recording. The single coupled a timeless classic (the Zombies' "Time of the Season") with roof-raising vocals and infectious pop hooks that stuck like peanut butter. Fiona's single was perfect, albeit a touch formulaic. Because of this, it's no surprise that a large chunk of her debut album, THE BRIDGE, is much of the same. Like any good 2009 pop-soul recording, the album offers influences from decades of soul music. Fiona, a Kanye West ...
| | 50 Cent Before I Self-Destruct CDs (2007) With DVD
Almost Famous (The Sexy Lady EP) CD music
$11.19 Released without the usual flurry of hype, Before I Self Destruct fulfills 50 Cent's contractual obligation to the Interscope label. It also doubles as a throwback album, returning the rapper to the hunger and hatred of his early mixtapes while skillfully recasting him as a wannabe upstart. That is, for the most part. The four radio-friendly bedroom numbers that conclude the album are out of place but fairly good to dime-piece beautiful, with the best being the Ne-Yo showcase "Baby by Me" ("Have a baby by me, baby/Be a millionaire"). As pleasing as these final ...
