This CD has come about as the result of requests from you music afficionados. Also, many have liked the occasional "bar" music sprinkled in amongst my Carnival and Junkanoo songs. There are those who have asked me to put out a CD containing exclusively old-style and Latin jazz. Perhaps you have visited these expatriate hangouts in the islands, or those good old backroads bars where a different brand of Blues, Jazz and New Orleans musical styles are mixed with island themes.For all of these reasons, I have happily produced "Island Bars." You can picture in your mind, as I do, the old-timers bringing their instruments into these places and jamming and producing an unusual and nostalgic brand of Island Bar Music.While attending college, I played at various bars and resorts to help pay for my education as a physicist. This valuable exposure to the life of working musicians convinced me to continue my education and make my way in the world of science. However, life throws interesting curves, and my goals and objectives were tinkered with and music never left the scene. Between extensive business travel and sailboat racing, I was introduced to Central and South America and most of the islands, especially in our hemisphere. Their rhythms and melodies never left me, until they exploded into a never-ending outpouring of musical compositions and a need to share them. Florida sailing out of Cape Canaveral brought the Bahamas and all of its delicious and outrageous counter beats into my music while the endless surf beating on the hot sands of hundreds of islands brought me their catchy melodies floating on the wind. ...

Two energetic grannies have been collaborating to write children’s Bible songs for over 20 years. After teaching Bible lessons and singing traditional children’s praise songs, Cathy and Paula volunteered to try to write songs which matched the Bible stories. Reports came from parents that their kids were singing these NEW songs day after day. Joy was so much on the rise that the two “singing teachers” went prospecting, looking through old sheet music and song books for treasured tunes to fit the feeling of each scriptural message. A divine synchronicity emerged, resulting in over 600 Bible songs, tested and approved by a generation of happy, Bible-infused children. Their first professional album was a Grammy contender in 2004, and six of their singles were on the 2005 Gospel Music Award ballot. ELEVEN songs were on the ballot for "Most Inspirational Single" of 2006!!! In 2008, their DAVID album was a finalist for the Dove Award's CHILDREN'S MUSIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR. The Songwriters Paula King (the analytical left brain) – B.A. Education/Math/English, University of North Texas. Graduate studies in Math, English, and Education. A teacher, programmer, and IRS field agent. Retired from a major airline, where she spent 17 years as a programmer / manager / comptroller in the aircraft scheduling department. Thirteen years of formal piano instruction, including college level. Producer, Song Writer, Composer, Music Arranger. Vaccinated with a phonograph needle! Catherine Walker (the creative right brain!) – Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Houston. Thirty years experience as Graphic Designer, Typesetter, Marketing Specialist, and Publisher: Irving’s Children Magazine 1994-95. Collaborated as author and illustrator on 10 children’s books including puzzles, Bible stories and character. Catherine worked at a major airline in the Interactive Marketing department on the AA.com web publishing team. Producer, Song Writer, Composer, Author. ...
