j.thorn’s pressence was first felt coming out his mothers womb (literally),on a hot,sunny, lemonade drinking day in flint mi.i know some of you might have just said to yourself “flint mi” but don’t sleep a lot of talented people came from flint!with his family having their good and not so good times growing up,this all played a part in him becoming the person he is today.for the adept listeners you can probably hear some of his experiences cleverly wooven into his music.moving to california to live with his father might have been one of the best things to ever happen to a young j.thorn.he first realized his connection with music in the 6th grade where he played trumpet in his jr high band. around this time a new type of music called hip-hop was emerging into existence.j.thorn quickly became interested,with older cousins that were into breakdancing and dj’ing he was off and running.talent shows would start to become the early ground work for this future m.c. from the late 90’s to the present j.thorn has been honing his skills. along the way his voice has graced many stages as well as different projects you might own. soundtrack resume includes “romeo must die” “undisputed” he can be heard on the showtime family feature “red sneakers”j.thorn wrote the lyrics to “lincon heights” theme song an abc family telivision show. mixtapes include:”unsigned hype”,”the shining”,and the malkovich music release “sickteens”. in the past two years j.thorn has formed a musical connection with fam one. a rap group that consist of two brothers from santa ana,california.they have an album out now called “welcome to the west coast” available on cd baby i-tunes etc..although fam one and j.thorn’s musical styles are different they’ve combined to attack the game from different angles.well boys and girls you’ve read enuff. if you feel yourself wanting to know more purchase j.thorn’s first solo release:”the movement” feel free to checkout any of the fam one releases ”welcome to the west coast”and fam one presents:lucky lou “who im iz”enjoy!
