The Truckin’ Troubadors For Christ have written and recorded more trucking gospel songs than anyone else in Country Gospel music. They are a husband and wife team who ministers to truck drivers in song and in the Word. After years on the road as professional truckers, they converted a tractor and 48 foot semi-trailer into a Mobile Chapel and called it the Travelin’ Tabernacle. Music is a very important part of their ministry and this album, HAMMER DOWN TO HEAVEN is the first of eight music albums. Of ten songs, eight are truly Gospel songs with a trucking flavor. “Hammer Down To Heaven” is a lively tune comparing trucking down here to our spiritual trip to Heaven. “Driftwood In The Master’s Hand” tells of a wood carver. “I’ve Drove For Every Truck Line”, names all of the trucking companies the singer drove for in his career. “Wife Of A Trucker,” is the wife’s side of the story and her trials and victories. “Let Jesus Be Your Dispatcher” encourages the trucker to truly let Jesus be their dispatcher in day to day life. You’ll be tapping your toes to this one. “Troubadors For Christ”, a truckers own words of discouragement and then finding encouragement at a truck stop chapel. “Someone To Turn To” just points the way to Jesus when every turn you make, on your own, has turned out wrong. They Don’t Know The Lord”, chronicles the different towns a mobile chapel sets up in. It starts out slow but ends up a real “barn burner”. Solid Yellow Line” is a truckers story, in his own words, of struggles on the road and then finding peace and joy in Jesus. “Jake Brake”could be the story of just about any trucker you know. There are a lot of “Jake Brakes” out there on the road and this song brings you face to face with a real truck driver. All songs have been written by Marvin & Paula Graves, the husband and wife team that make up the Truckin’ Troubadors For Christ. Well this is a good time to introduce myself! My full name is Richard Edward Cameron and I was born and raised in Toronto, Ont. Canada. I met a wonderful woman by the name of, Anja, who was born in Holland. She is a wonderful Christian lady and she led me to the Lord. I am truly grateful for all the help and support she has given to me over the years. Since meeting her, we moved to a small town in Ontario called, Northbrook. It was just before we moved there that I gave my heart to the Lord. I started going to church with her and one Sunday while everyone was singing beautiful worship songs, my arms went up and tears streamed down my face. I knew then and there that my heart belonged to God. Shortly after moving to Northbrook, God, started giving me songs. Now trust me, I can't write songs no matter how hard I try! I would never consider myself a songwriter but with the guidance and inspiration of the Lord, anything is possible. The first song I wrote was, 'If Jesus Came to Your House'. The words and music came just like that. It was amazing! I would have to write it down and chord it as soon as I could or it would be gone. One of the songs on my CD was written while sitting in church. The pastor noticed I was writing and just as he was wrapping up his sermon... I was able to close the service with that very song! And so it goes... Jesus loves me. I faced some difficult times over the last few years. The good Lord helped me through a heart attack and some very major surgery. It was a miracle. I couldn't walk but just before I went into the hospital, the good Lord let me know that everything would be okay. No...he didn't talk to me as some people say, he just let me know that everything would be fine and exactly what would take place. The doctor said that my back was full of arthritis ...

- About The Artist -Denise Brunson Harris Ms. Denise Brunson Harris is a native St. Louisan. She is the daughter of Mrs. Rita Brunson and the late Warren J. Brunson. “I am tremendously thankful for being raised in a Christian home. My parents worked very hard to make sure that my brother and I knew the Lord Jesus and attended regular church services. I grew up at Newstead Ave Missionary Baptist Church, where the pastor was Dr. W.A. Scott, Sr. (now pastored by Elder Richard Pearson,) my father was on the Board of Trustees and my grandmother, Sophronia Brunson taught the ‘cradle roll’ class in Sunday School.”Ms. Harris was educated in both the St. Louis City and University City public school systems and served as one of the accompanist for the Accappella and Concert Choirs. After graduating from University City Senior High School, as an honor student, she received a scholarship to study music at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and was listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. However, she decided to accept a full scholarship and attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she completed her undergraduate studies in psychology. While at Washington University, Ms. Harris participated in the Black Theatre Workshop and appeared in the plays Rituals and Hopes, Dreams and Secrets, directed by Clyde Ruffin. She also performed in the university’s production of the musical Guys and Dolls. Ms. Harris was a member of the gospel ensemble, Genesis I under the direction of Ms. Diane White. Ms. Harris was a featured guest soloist on the Sunday morning television showGod’s Musical World, directed by Dr. Kenneth Billups, while she was a touring member of the Washington University Black Repertory Chorus. Ms. Harris has also performed in the hit musical, Eubie, at the St. Louis Black Repertory Theater.Ms. Harris studied piano performance under Ms. Sona Hermanson for one semester while attending Washington University. It is with much gratitude that she also acknowledges her classical piano training from Mrs. Alleda Ward Wells (Alleda Ward Wells Studio), Mr. Bruce Fischer and Mr. Joseph Scotty at Community School for the Arts (CASA) here in St. Louis, ...
