Local Train To Babylon album
$10.09 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully old-fashioned holiday album from its Norman Rockwell-esque cover to its joyous backing vocals. Apart from the breakneck "Must Be Santa," which barrelhouses like a barroom, Dylan doesn't ...

Local Train To Babylon CD music
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it ...

| | Jay Sherman-Godfrey Twoscore CD (2006)
Local Train To Babylon songs
$7.49 After years as a band member, sideman, session player, producer, and engineer, Jay Sherman-Godfrey has moved front and center with Twoscore, his solo debut. The EP's seven songs reflect his wide-ranging musical experience and influences - from the jangly, Califonia country of the late Byrds to the classic power-pop of Badfinger. He refers to his style as having a 'pop sensibility, country lean," an approach epitomized by his dramatic waltz-time reading of the Beach Boys' classic Girl Don't Tell Me, the centerpiece of the disc.Sherman-Godfrey is perhaps best known for producing and playing guitar on Laura Cantrell's debut CD, Not The Tremblin' Kind, and its follow-up, When The Roses Bloom Again. Each has received widespread critical acclaim, personal support and regular airplay from legendary BBC DJ John Peel, and a four-star review from Rolling Stone. More recently, he and Ms. Cantrell collaborated on the song Bees from her 2005 Matador release, Humming By The Flowered Vine. In addition to Ms. Cantrell, Sherman-Godfrey has had the pleasure of working with They Might Be Giants, Amy Rigby, Michael Moore, ...
| | Angelique Around The World In A Groove CD (2006)
Local Train To Babylon album
$15.19 On the heels of her very successful independently released debut 'Angelique', Around the World in a Groove is the sophmore effort for multi-lingual (French, Spanish, English) neo soul singer-songwriter Angelique. Accompanied by stellar background singers and musicians, Angelique's Around the World in a Groove is a musically diverse, infectiously rhythmic groove album that will strike a chord with countless audiences."When You Gave Your Word" is a funky, hip hop groove with driving bass and clavinet riffs that address 'blah blah television playas' who lie, beg and cheat. It features Alabama rapper TJ showcasing his 'dirrty south' skills with singer-actor Michael Kostroff (The Producers, The Wire) on backing vocals. Perfect for Urban Adult Contemporary Markets, "Cornbread, Beans & Rice" is a laid back, summer in the park track with Angelique reminiscing about a lazy Saturday with her 'boo'English/Spanish Soca flavored ...

| | Candy Conspiracy She's A Mystery CD (2006)
Local Train To Babylon music CDs
$10.19 A fan at 'theouterpost ' described this effort best - good road trip music! Candy Conspiracy was born out of a long, winding road of discovery. Memories of Redlands' orange groves, Tucson's saguaro covered mountains, and Signal Hill's views of the Queen Mary permeated the recording sessions at the base of Mount San Jacinto. The songs were originally conceived as punk-cowpoke-pop blurs of desert scenery. All were fast, furious and loud as heard at Tuscon venues like Club Congress. In time, they became acoustic gems that were served up with the aromatic blends of It's A Grind in Long Beach. Today, they land somewhere in the middle. Gone is the furious hyper-drive pace that fueled the fire. Instead, is a sense of place and time that is genuine. Brought to the forefront, is the always honest story of the song. Jordan Gruener of the Arizona Daily Wildcat once described 'Whatchya Gonna Do?' as an 'archetypal rock song. ' You decide if it stands up to that moniker. Here are the lyrics, play the song:We got a one more mile on a road to nowhere17 ...

Local Train To Babylon songs
$14.79 Kevin had a warehouse that he painted cars and played drums, guitar, and bass, and sang at night and had all night parties with lots of pretty girls and lots of friends and lots of recording got done right after apollo, the first Mudslide album. Some of the members of Mudslide went down to Mexico like Andy and Loren, but Kevin kept rockin' and recording and this is mostly a studio album. It is different in contrast to the self-titled "Mudslide" album and really has a lot of good songs that are comparable to Pink Floyd's "Ummagumma" album. This is a must ...
