In 2000 Luke (drums) and Rob (bass) decide together to create an extreme metal band called Violent Overture. Immediately they look for a singer and a guitar player. So Luchino comes in as singer and Fano as guitarist. The band begins to write down own songs and attends to some concerts in Luccashire. In 2002, after some internal lacks of understanding, the band divides itself into two different projects. Rob, Fano and Luchino create Motrok, a metal-core band; replacing Luke with Andrea behind the leathers. The band plays in several live shows and records a demo self titled "Motrok". Afterwards Fano leaves the band, so Rob replaces him on six strings and on bass comes in Ale, a great friend of the band. Instead Luke, joining Andrea (guitar) and Michele (bass), decides to create Devastator project, a band of pure and uncontaminated old school thrash metal. The band begins immediately writing own songs, with the idea to emulate the thrash of the 80's of clear german matrix. After some months Luchino comes into the band as singer to let Michele dedicate himself purely on bass. But unfortunately Mike leaves the band quite early for personal motivations and so Rob comes in on bass. The line-up is well cemented , and it attends to several concerts in Toscany and outside, collecting a good approval. 4th May 2003, during the "Bustock" contest in Busto Arsizio's Comunità Giovanile (VA), the band has the opportunity to record it's first four tracks live album called 'LIVE TO MAKE WAR' , wich had several and positive reviews by many italian webzines. After a short time Andrea decides to leave the band too. Then Rob decides to pass on guitar joining the band, choosing to melt Motrok songs and their rock'n'roll and hard-core influences to Devastator's thrash. After some trials with some band's friends bass players (Pardo, Marco, Ale), the choice of the definitive Devastator's bass player falls on Ricca, an old friend too. Finally the line-up is fixed, acquiring tecnique and power it continues it's live activity, exhibiting also at important metal events of the italian underground as the first "Bloodythrash Night" of the 3rd July 2004, the "Titans Of Thrash 2004" and the "Hellblast Festival" of the 5th March 2005, where it has the chance to record it's second live CD, 'ALIVE FROM DEVASTATION', composed by ten own songs and one cover. In summer 2005 also the first band's studio work, called "THRASH'N'WAR", has birth. The album is self-produced, recorded and mixed by Freddy Delirio, voice of the rockers H.A.R.E.M., in his FP Recording Studios in Lucca. It's direct recorded to keep the Devastator's live impact. The songwriting sharpens and new powerful rock'n'roll and hardcore contaminations join the usual thrash influences of the beginnings. "Thrash'n'War" is commented with good voting by the most important italian and european webzines and by all italian rewiews of the field. Moreover the debut album is very supported live with several shows up and down italian peninsula; including live shows with legendary german thrash band Assassin; the "Thrash Till Death Night" with Kernel and Distruzione and the "Metal Disorder 2006", an important italian underground thrash metal festival. Actually the band is in Toscanini Studios in Bologna to complete it's second full lenght "Alcoholic Invasion" characterized by a german thrash style songwriting, but even more influenced by rock'n'roll, punk and hardcore. Moreover Albe joined the band on voice, replaceing Luchino who left the band for personal motivations. Alcoholic Invasion album
$21.00 Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate hidden gems like "Cursum Perficio," "Boadicea," "Trains and Winter Rains," and "Anywhere Is." Also notable is the inclusion of "May It Be" and a previously unreleased version of "Aníron (I Desire)," both of which originally appeared on the soundtrack for the first chapter of Peter Jackson's beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy. ~ James Christopher Monger
