Virginia Beach pianist Bay McLaughlin began taking piano lessons and studying music theory at the age of four. He continued studying piano until sixteen when he decided to switch his focus from classical piano to punk and metal percussion. Bay's earliest influences were Oldies music, with a particular focus on the Beach Boys and Elvis. Through middle school, high school, and most of college, Bay listened to punk and metal exclusively.
