The complete third season is full of more medical mysteries and strange patients, matched only by the strangeness of their physician. In this season, House confronts a number of bizarre cases including an alleged alien implant, a musical prodigy with mysterious talents, and an ethical dilemma that puts him between a mother and her unborn child. His patients are tough, but they're are only half his problem as he deals with his gunshot wounds and troubles with the law that threaten to get him banned from medicine for good. Every one of these 23 episodes is full of the humor and clever medical conflicts that have made the show a critical success. House - The Complete Third Season film
$12.39 Blackfoot was always the heaviest of the great Southern rock movement, and on Siogo(reputedly either a Native American word for "closeness" or a crude groupie acronym, probably the latter) the boys try to break into the metal market and regain their brief hold on American audiences. Staunch metallists will recognize the touch of producer Al Nalli (from Axe's similarly excellent Nemesis) and a new bit of European muscle from Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley on the keyboards. Although cliched throughout, powerful performances send openers "Send Me an Angel," "Run for Cover," and "Drivin' Fool" to lofty hard rock heights. "We're Goin' Down" nips the riff from "Double Vision," while "Goin' in Circles" and the micro-hit "Teenage Idol" thunder like late Rainbow. "Heart's Grown Cold" treats the Nazareth dirge like a lost classic, and virtually transforms it into one as a result (The next and basically last Blackfoot burner, Vertical Smiles, houses another Nazareth ...

House - The Complete Third Season review
$12.39 Like their Native American ancestors before them, the members of Blackfoot must have known what it felt like to be exiled from their homeland. Only, rather than being forced into an Indian reservation, the world's first all-Native American hard rock band found itself trying to scrape together a good wage across the pond, where U.K. audiences couldn't seem to get enough of its uniquely metallic, Skynyrd-derived Southern rock. Despite experiencing diminishing returns in the good ol' U.S. of A., all three of their studio albums for Atco had been warmly embraced here, leading to nearly two years of incessant touring. Such acclaim eventually led to demands for a live album, which the band duly recorded with the help of the Rolling Stones' mobile studio during a three-month jaunt across the British Isles in 1982. Named Highway Song Live after the band's biggest (and most "Freebird"-like) hit, it was recorded in the spirit of the classic live albums of the '70s, with explosive performances of such Blackfoot favorites as "Road Fever," "Every Man Should Know (Queenie)," "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme," and the title track. Additional highlights include a couple of supercharged blues numbers ...

$49.39 Combining comic book style and geeky in-jokes, HEROES is a stellar series that draws comparisons to fan favorites such as LOST and THE X-FILES. But thanks to its well-drawn characters and intricate plot, this drama reels in more than just superhero fans. House - The Complete Third Season DVD
$17.89 Fabrizio De Angelis, the producer of Lucio Fulci's amazing ZOMBIE, tried to cash in on that film's success by financing this zombie/cannibal hybrid film that not only features ZOMBIE's lead actor, Ian McCulloch, but also some of its footage. The result is an often hilarious gore fest that is far less serious than Fulci's film, but whose sheer lunacy makes up for any of its shortcomings. The story follows Dr. Peter Chandler (McCulloch) and a reporter named Lori (Delli Colli) who discover a rash of cannibalism in New York. Soon the two have traced the cannibalistic activity to a remote island where they encounter a tribe of cannibals and a mad scientist who appears to be experimenting with reanimating dead corpses. The result ...

House - The Complete Third Season DVD
$31.25 Drag racing east from L.A. in a souped-up '55 Chevy are the wayward Driver and Mechanic (singer/songwriter James Taylor and the Beach Boys' Dennis Wilson, in their only acting roles), accompanied by a tagalong Girl (Laurie Bird). Along the way, they meet Warren Oates's Pontiac GTO-driving wanderer and challenge him to a cross-country race--the prize: their cars' pink slips. Yet no summary can do justice to the existential punch of Two-Lane Blacktop. Maverick director Monte Hellman's stripped-down narrative, gorgeous widescreen compositions, and sophisticated look at American male obsession make this one of the artistic high points of 1970s cinema, and possibly the greatest road
Cult film director Monte Hellman follows up his legendary westerns THE SHOOTING and RIDE IN THE WHIRLWIND with another bona fide classic, this time set on the paved highways ...
